Wondering if I should try again

OK I've been skimming through some of the current posts and am now thinking maybe I should try hcg again. When I first tried it 3? years ago it took me 8 months to drop 20 pounds. This was after taking 18 months on the Jenny Craig diet (1200 cal a day of a typical SAD diet) to lose a measly 58 pounds.

I have been keeping to the leptin reset for months now with no success. Just had a blood draw to check for food allergies and will know in a week just what I should be avoiding. I'm positive eggs, nuts and fish will be on the list.

So. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. I'm looking up my old ordering info for the hcg but need to know where to get the back water. I think I still have 6 sterile bottles for mixing and a box of syringes left from the last abortive attempts to get this to work.

    thanks!

Of the two places I had bought HcG from one is out of business and on the other I cannot find it listed anywhere. Anyone have any pointers?

Darleen...you might want to move this to the HCG thread...Colleen Coble is very knowledgeable, she is a moderator on the big HCG Forum and posts on the HCG threads here frequently.

It's very weird that it took 8 months on HCG to lose 20 lbs. I've never heard of anyone losing so slowly on HCG.

I'm sorry I thought this WAS the hcg forum. didn't know there was a specific thread.

And there were a LOT of us barely losing at all. I was frequenting the HTA forums then.

Oops...my bad...you're in the right place.

  6. Did you pinpoint anything that could have confounded the weight loss? I know there is a TON of "follow pounds and inches!!!!" dogma about, but one thing that does seem to be in play in all the stuff I've read lately (and I read EVERYTHING before deciding to do this) is that those who follow the protacol with the injections seem to lose, and the ones that don't have some variations that are not on the original plan.

I don't for a minute think it's all 100% correct in the WHY's it works, or that there are not hacks you can do to it while it keeps working. . . .so I'm just being curious. I want to understand what might cause someone to not workout on this.

Keep me posted when you start!!!

The HCG protocol needs to be followed to the letter for it to work. Many will substitute or add protein or this or that and I really disagree. I've done the HCG program twice and lost well both times and have been able to maintain by doing the LX Reset. Do not under any circumstances add oil to the HCG protocol. Read the Dr. Simeons manuscript and follow it and you will lose. But no cheats, not a single one at all. Just make the commitment for the 35 days and then do it. Don't do the program if you have a wedding coming up or a vacation. Do it when you have the time and no chance to fall off. Both times I did the program I did it 100% by the Dr. Simeons manuscript. The only thing I did, and this was ok, was to not eat the melba and many days I only ate 1 piece of fruit. I'm not sure it helped much though.

Some months ago some of the online pharmacy's stopped selling HCG so you may need to get it from a Dr. here in the States. It is available but it will cost a bit more. Just don't let a Dr. tell you you can eat broccoli or cauliflower or anything else not on the list of permitted foods.

Hope this helps. Load really well, it will be a huge factor in your success.

I did follow it exactly and I was using injections. Buying from a us physician is out of the question. The darned stuff 3 years ago was sold for about $15 an amp with a 'suggested retail' of $150 or something like that. It is RIDICULOUS what they charge.

I ordered from a place in Canada which I just found out is now where ADC is selling. I hope I didn't just get taken. I may try another suggestion I found elsewhere. But thanks anyway.

There are quite a few places selling hcg that have problems with credit cards and security. Always get a "temporary" card number from your credit card company for ordering, or use a prepaid card. Too many people have been the victims of stolen numbers.

Try ReliableRX.com. They are a sister company to ADC but DO use the temporary card number. What dose were you on? A few years ago everyone was doing 200 iu and taking the wrong dose plays a BIG role in poor losses. Also you might have an insulin issue and 2 fruits a day is just too many for you. You might need to sub out one fruit for an extra serving of protein. Good luck!

Sorry, I didn't see this until now. I've been at my publishers all week and just got home. I have my new book in my hot little hands. :) Been a good week but I've missed you all!

Yay on the book, Colleen! And thanks for stopping by.

I ordered from ReliableRxPHARMACY are they the same outfit? never mind I'll just go google it. Just answered my own ? ...yes they are. And no I didn't use a temporary card number. I'd ordered twice before from ADC with nary a hitch. And I check my statement rigorously every month because I never carry a balance. If something hinky shows up I'm on the phone to the cc company STAT.

My dose was in the standard range but never 200 ... actually it might have been a titch too low. I think I was using 125 iu. Fruits were absolutely a problem esp since I was eating those GINORMOUS gala apples that Costco was selling at the time. I think one of them equaled 4 regular size apples. I had the runs for a couple of weeks then was totally constipated after that.

    I know, TMI.

I'm waiting on the results of the RAST test (should have them late next week I hope) as I will not begin the hcg until I know what I am allergic to ... I'm pretty sure eggs and nuts and some white fish but I need to know for sure.

I am getting really excited to do this again with the fervent hope that this time it will work. I've been low carbing for 18 months and sticking (mostly) to the leptin rx for 8 months so I think my body is ready. I hope it is. I'm going to stick absolutely to his original plan. 21 days on and then off onto a solid low carb plan. If I need it I will ease back to the reset. I'm going to take this slow and see what happens. If I need to do another round I'll have plenty of supplies. I ordered 5 ampoules 5000 iu each.

    FLAB BEGONE!

Honey, that test isn't going to tell you much. Truly. Even Dr. Kruse says it's a waste of money. :( 125 might not have been too low. If you had no hunger, then it was fine. Good luck!

Thanks for the input but my doc has been specializing in allergies for several decades. I trust him.

And I DID have hunger. I toughed it out for 8 months and still only lost barely 20 pounds. You cannot say I don't have will power.

And I went to check on my order through reliable rx only to find they had doubled it with yet another order... I had started the process because I couldn't find my original order but NEVER COMPLETED IT. So anyone ordering from them be EXTREMELY careful. I've emailed them to cancel the 2nd order. Sure hope somebody sees it in time. I don't need 10 amps of the stuff. 5 will probably be too much as it is.

You were on hcg for 8 mos? Holy cow, that is not allowed! Your poor body. :(

Do what you want with the allergy info but it's likely going to show you're allergic to much more than you really or are allergic to things that you aren't. I see it all the time. And as I said, Dr. Kruse says they are useless too.

+1 on the allergy testing being useless. I apparently can eat everything I know for sure I'm allergic to.....

fwiw on the allergy blood spot test (which is the one mentioned here) it`s supposed to only pick up foods that you have consumed recently and are reacting to. the food I reacted highest to on the test was duck egg a food I have never eaten

Darlene, if by chance you do end up with 10 amps, shoot me a PM. I was going to order some myself but haven't got around to it yet.

    Ok Lisa.

and no I did NOT use the hcg every single day for 8 months. I DID read the protocol. I did several rounds and having reread the protocol realize now I should not have listened to all the "experts" and taken a nice long break between rounds. But it still took that long to get off 20 pounds.

As to the RAST test ... to each their own. As it turns out I tested NOT allergic to any foods. So I now suspect I must have had some kind of bug after all. However, the skin tests for seasonal allergies told another story altogether. Trees, grasses, molds and cats AND dogs. I didn't want to have to drive to town twice a week to get shots so have opted instead for the drops. Sure hope they can at least keep my reactions in the spring and fall down to a low roar.
