Weight loss stall or plateau

    definitely do the salivary cortisol test that wake up with nightmares and heart pounding can be high OR low cortisol. between 1-3 am is when the blood sugar levels normally drop the proper response is to send cortisol to even things out and prevent you from waking. if the body is not regulated then you will either get too much and wake with palps or you get none and the body compensates with adrenaline and you wake with a nightmare and palps

    Thanks Colleen. Friend of mine also struggles with this so this is great info. Learning so much about my body! Always assumed it had to do with blood sugar (borderline t2d) ant figured it was my BS dropping too far or something... Sounds like I was maybe half right!, wonder what doc will want me to do for it tho? Off to mine the blog for cortisol issues and comments now!!

    I certainly agree, this is also my experience. I DO feel much less prone to irritation and get FULL on BAB and early dinner.

    I suspect that CT is very beneficial for me and I second the idea to work your way into CT, Gina

    I take PS supplements before bed and some magnesium malate. I also got estrogen supplement and I am doing better now.

    I'm stalled, probably because I'm fighting a virus that according to most people hangs on 4-6 weeks (great), I'm probably not eating enough, and because of the virus, I'm not doing CT until it clears up. Sigh.

    Stall fixed. one little ice pack on my stomach took off 2 pounds in 2 days- back to progress!

    n-Ice! I dropped 13 lbs the first 2 weeks. I started with LR and CT (full bath) and stalled one week. I'm pretty muscular and don't have much to lose but no amount of workouts/strick diet would budge my weight. I doubled up my Ice baths and lost another 3 lbs within a few days. I was weighing daily but will check in this weekend. Still can't believe this is working and it doesn't seem to be related to my diet. I have been strict Paleo for 3+ years (I have logged my food for years). I am eating the exact same food as I have for 3 yrs. Just at different times (BAB and dinner only) and CT.

    Anyone else notice get through stalls with added ice time?

    I do miss my workouts ;(

    Added ice time helps me. When I started CT I was a 36 waist. I did what Dr. K suggested and bought a pair of shorts that were very tight in the waist, these were a size 32-34. Now these shorts are very lose and my next pair will be a size 30-32. Can't say how much my weight has dropped off because I don't weigh, too stressful.

    I started taking a PS supplement - 200 mg and magnesium malate in the evening. The estrogen supplement is helping for sure as well. In the mid of February, I started with CT. All in all, I sleep better and feel better but it is a process. My palpitations are almost gone.

    thanks for this, I stress over the scale every morning too. I get upset/mad at myself when the scale jumps the wrong way...I have to stop and only occasionally step on the scale. I feel smaller after 10 days and my clothes feel a little looser, but the scale has gone up 2.5 lbs. I was very upset over that this am so I'm sure my cortisol shot through the roof...

    I stalled too, and I do not eat that much anymore, simply because Lrx worked and I'm not hungry for food.

    Can weight loss stall occur, after leptin reset, because of decrease in leptin? (low leptin,brain thinks: Starvation?)

    Looking for some insights,
