    "Controlling topology with light

In mathematics, topology describes how a geometric object can transform into various shapes without losing certain properties. For example, a sphere can morph into a flat disk but not into a doughnut, because that would require poking a hole in it.

In materials, the concept of topology is more abstract, but it similarly leads to extraordinary robustness: Materials in a topological state maintain their exotic properties, such as the ability to conduct electricity with very little loss, under external perturbation.

“These materials offer an exciting platform for understanding new concepts in materials physics, and we’ve been actively learning new ways of utilizing their unique potential,” said Edbert Sie, a fellow at the Geballe Laboratory for Advanced Materials at Stanford working with Lindenberg and one of the new study’s lead authors. Research on topological materials has been honored with the 2016 Nobel Prize in Physics and a 2019 Breakthrough Prize.""

Where is 5G in the UK?
In the UK, Vodafone is trialling 5G at the MediaCity UK tech hub in Salford, where local firms and digital start-ups have been invited to try the technology, and is rolling out tests in Birmingham, Bristol, Cardiff, Glasgow, Liverpool, London and Manchester.

EE started a trial in the Old Street area of London in November, and a £50 million government project in Birmingham, Coventry and Wolverhampton is testing the technology from early this year for use in buses and by the emergency services.

“The roll out of 5G across the country will inevitably be a lot slower than 4G, because the infrastructure doesn’t exist to add 5G onto the masts so the networks will have to go out and build new 5G sites,” says Baillie.

That means the technology is likely to reach urban areas long before rural ones, and indeed EE has already announced that it will roll out its 5G network in the the 1,500 busiest places in the country first.

You know when lines are going around the block for a popular club but when you finally get in there's like 10 people inside. That is medical school. When you enter residency the reality becomes very real just how bad your decision was. Here you realize the American healthcare complex is where profits are privatized for corporations and losses are shared with taxpayers while the doctors rust out before the burnout. We are collateral damage for the matrix and machine that administrators and management have built. We are bricks in a wall we no longer control. The kicker: The disease epidemics are out of control and nobody in healthcare is doing anything correctly from an evolutionary biologic perspective for the public good whatsoever. That data is obvious unless of course, you are part of the machine. Right, Kevin Pho? When will you tell your readers you are part of the machine taking doctors apart? You've got to call out bullshit artists when they show up folks. https://www.kevinmd.com/blog/2019/0...s-are-still-hard-to-get-into-why-is-that.html
