@NeilBB yesterday on the drive home I heard Between the wheels on the radio. I almost had to pull over. b/c you never hear that on the radio. its always Tom Sawyer, Freewill or Limelgiht.

excellent. when i saw their live show from a 2000's tour (probably same as this clip), they were pulling out hidden treasures for their set. I was doing metaphorical backflips when Between the Wheels was played. Lots of misguided fans groan at their 80s synth repetoire, but that's exactly when their songwriting/lyrics hit full stride in my judgment.

    Unstable condition:
    A symptom of life
    In mental,
    And environmental
    Change

    Atmospheric disturbance
    The feverish flux,
    Of human interface
    And interchange

    The impulse is pure
    Sometimes our circuits get shorted,
    By external interference.

    Signals get crossed
    And the balance distorted
    By internal incoherence

    A tired mind become a shape-shifter
    Everybody need a mood lifter
    Everybody need reverse polarity

    Everybody got mixed feelings
About the function and the form
    Everybody got to deviate
    From the norm

    An ounce of perception
    A pound of obscure,
    Process information
    At half speed

    Pause:
    Rewind replay
    Warm memory chip
    Random sample
    Hold the one you need

    Leave out the fiction
    The fact is;
    This friction,
Will only be worn by persistence

    Leave out conditions
    Courageous convictions,
Will drag the dream into existence

    A tired mind become a shape-shifter
    Everybody need a soft filter
    Everybody need reverse polarity

    Everybody got mixed feelings
About the function and the form
    Everybody got to elevate
    From the norm

Everybody got to deviate from the norm
Everybody got to elevate from the norm
Everybody got to emancipate from the norm
    Everybody got to escalate...

We were just talking about classic bands that we would like to see at the festival I go to and Rush did come up but there are too expensive. Someone mentioned a song from a band and I said that’s not classic rock till I checked and the band has been around for 20 years.

It was discussed here about time but man, where does it go!!! It made me think of the lyrics to this song.

    "Time"

Ticking away the moments that make up a dull day
Fritter and waste the hours in an off-hand way
Kicking around on a piece of ground in your home town
Waiting for someone or something to show you the way

Tired of lying in the sunshine staying home to watch the rain
You are young and life is long and there is time to kill today
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun

And you run and you run to catch up with the sun but it's sinking
Racing around to come up behind you again
The sun is the same in a relative way, but you're older
Shorter of breath and one day closer to death

Every year is getting shorter, never seem to find the time
Plans that either come to naught or half a page of scribbled lines
Hanging on in quiet desperation is the English way
The time is gone, the song is over, thought I'd something more to say

    Home, home again
I like to be here when I can
When I come home cold and tired
It's good to warm my bones beside the fire
    Far away, across the field
The tolling of the iron bell
Calls the faithful to their knees
To hear the softly spoken magic spell
