Isn't this a bit like telling cattle that most varieties of grass are polluted and should be avoided (in preference to grains, I suppose)? We are obligate seafood eaters, and avoiding seafood is more toxic to us than the pollutants (which healthy bodies can deal with).

I ignore any such strong statements unless they are backed up by decent research papers..many people avoid certain foods on religious grounds I'm thinking of the Jewish religion that precludes pork and shellfish. See http://www.chabad.org/library/article_cdo/aid/1452611/jewish/Why-Do-Jews-Not-Eat-Pork-or-Crab.htm

Many people avoid shellfish because they believe that they act as filters and therefore contain a high level of toxins. See http://www.medic8.com/healthguide/food-poisoning/shellfish-toxins.html

The ultimate goal for some is to get "healthy bodies", of course..... but filling themselves with too many pollutants could be more of a challenge for them than they can handle....

I'm a lil late to the party, but thank you! Was looking exactly for this!

Love the JK forums. Better than all the trashy stuff that pops up on google when searching for optimal health info.

I'm sure I've heard a recent JK talk where he is dismisses the 'toxicity' of fish whilst in the pursuit of DHA. (if I come across it again, I will come back here)

In many cases selenium content in fish protects against mercury:

In the UK major supermarkets sell frozen Mackerel... BUT it's caught in the North East Atlantic. taken to China. processed and shipped to the UK. Mackerel being common in our waters here, I was shocked when reading the small print. About 18,000 miles for something which can be caught locally.
