Optimal Journal

    As I'm working my way up to journal here, I was unsure whether to start my Optimal Journal with a backlog or begin with where I am. I'll begin with where I am, the present, and add a backlog as appropriate.

    BACKGROUND: Currently, I live with family. I have a water distiller which I cannot find all the parts too, so I drink filtered spring/mineral water from bottled sources or via a filter; best in quality available. I see the sun in the AM, and spend as much time in the garden when at home as possible. I have a Kiniki poncho and wear this while out (so as not to startle the neighbours). At times I wear a silk dressing gown, inside and outside, and suede-soled shoes.

    Typical AM, skipping the details: workout routine in the garden, food, cold bath.

    In the evenings: red lights and candles in doors. Blue light blocking glasses. I want to get some that are clear for work so I can pass them off as reading glasses and for focus (I have astigmatism).

    We have LED colour changing bulbs around the house. Chromotherapy is very interesting. I have blackout curtains in my room; I need to fix the fitting soon. It is very helpful for now nevertheless.

    The main aim over the past year has been Ethernet housewide: ethernet switches, and an EMF metre to boot. Try that with teenagers in the house who have known nothing but wifi and smart phones all of their lives. I suggested to my mother that she buys a safe, and they put there phones in there at 7pm, 9pm latest (suggesting they don't have smart phones at all sounds extreme to them). There are a bunch of useful tools and resources that have been locked away for years because of a broken door. It is due to be fixed on August 29th, and I hope it does. 5G has rolled out in the city family and I live in. Spending a small fortune for tools, necessary tools, where and when money could be used elsewhere or elsewise.

    As mentioned previously, going back to my home country 2° south of the equator saved my life. When I turned 18 I got access to money from compensation and paid to for tickets for my family to go back.

    In between then and now, it's been a rough ride with mental health, addictions, academia, and and and - it's been life, through a glass darkly. What I can only explain as getting memory gaps/holes, among other things. In late 2017, I decided to take a break from university and seek out biofeedback, of which I had been aware of for years - and my intuition has been pointing me to since 2013 or so. Best decision I made in 2017. Life became real, or more real. Throughout my teenages years I was incapable of retaining information well. I could understand and grasp concepts, but the magnitude and import combined with memory gaps made it hard to integrate.

    CT RX: I aim for 160 minutes plus weekly of cold baths with a minimum of 15 minutes weekly of head immersions while during the cold baths. I might throw in cold showers, it depends. I enjoy these cold baths greatly.

    On a related note: I read Epi Paleo Rx years ago (between 2013 and 2015: I can check, it took me a while to read because... a) long list of books to read; b) when it comes to some aspects of topics such as these, hearing it - or both hearing it and reading it - are preferred. Audiobook anytime soon?).

    I did the Leptin Rx, or a leptin reset diet back in 2013. Overall, I have more questions now than I have answers, so bear with me...

    WRT diet: I like seafood, seafood likes me. Eating locally and seasonally, low carb paleo, animal-based. I like pork too. In my native country, as in the country I live in, they are found a plenty. This is good news.

    I'm trying to find more information on hormones and psychological health. In the past perhaps my need to know why got in way of how. Now I just want to learn more bushcraft and everything will be alright :p

    Forgot to mention: I take Omega 3 supplements. How much and what impact does it have on innate DHA production capabilities?

    The only (labs) testing I have done is genetic, via 23andme. Getting a full hormone, O6:O3 and mineral panel is something I will definitely be doing in future, at least once in my life. Now I feel that future is nearer than later; sooner is better. Meanwhile sorting the finances.

    What I noticed with Omega 3 is mood improvement, as if serotonin registers; it depends on diet and environmental factors also. With animal based epi-paleo, raw or cooked, my mood seems okay without them relatively speaking (on days I miss supplementing). I take 3g-5g, depending. We live near the coast so local seafood is available. I think cost is the main issue. I've turned to tinned and frozen when getting fresh from the market was not viable.

    I'd like a hormone and O6:O3 panel asap for various reasons.

    Looking back over the protocols, I've done some components maybe of each, and would like to revisit to execute them better, if need be. Also considering I did them without taking labs, so the data was more qualitative than quantitative. For example, I did the Adrenal Fx and Leaky Gut Fx when I lived on my own before university. Cold thermogenesis in the form of cold baths I started did back then also. The university environment changed a lot of things.

    Pregnenolene and cortisol: I have high anxiety levels (excitatory-inhibitory responses) and undiagnosed neurodevelopmental muscoskeletal or spatial/coordination factors... the environment is a big factor also. Might doing a protocol with pregnenolene be an option? Alongside testing?

    There is a lot of work ahead. I'm happy at the stage I am, knowing the nature of the journey, reality and the discoveries unearthed along the way. To have my mother turn the red lights on at night and see she has taken in some of what we discuss, is a blessing. She has high blood pressure. I got a blood pressure monitor. When she asked for my advice I said get rid of the medication, get out in the AM barefoot or use UVA/IR lighting, and eat more seafood and organ meats. It crossed my mind that iodine and magnesium may help her also (supplements are not necessary a go to and should be considered contextually).

    I'm so happy without coffee, I wonder why I didn't stop before. I could say the ssme for alcohol - hence addictions.

    Food is stored solar energy.
    When eating or drinking,
    make it in a way which minimizes your deuterium intake.

    A healthy person's breath condensate has deuterium content lower by (7 - 10) ppm when compared to saliva or urine.
    Water over 135 ppm (D/H) is not suitable for human consumption.

    The enzyme cytochrome c oxidase or Complex IV, EC 1.9.3.1
    have also been called CCO.

    Some say it is about ATP

    but really it is about the energy produced by water synthesis, more better

    Since you @wildperoxin have interest in peroxisomes
    one unanswered question I have is:
    why people who have a neolithic disease often have very high EPA and DHA,
    why
    it would be good for them to eat the best seafood?

    Can you cite a good reference/study/read/source?

    It's worth finding references and looking into. Let's do a little digging.

    What comes to mind: it might be to do with the body's way of protecting degenerative areas of proteins and cells (brain - heart -nervous system - myelin sheath) from states of energy deficiencies/depletion and apoptosis. The EPA and DHA may be found in higher concentrations in certain areas, and not others, and are not able to act effectively in any case to alter or may even promote the course neolithic disease progression.

    EPA might be higher than DHA. Peroxisomes may not be able to break down certain fatty acid chains, on either a genetic, congenital or acquired basis. In turn this affects signaling, voltage and current across and in cells, and communications in the systems. The ability for EZ zones to be formed or sustained extra-/intra-cellularly is affected. There's something up with the water the body's able to make, so the water (and fats!) they take in matter more.

    So what was once an adaptive response, a temporary solution, becomes a disease.

    In terms of medical imaging, I vaguely recall their nervous systems and brain look different (I forget which one - more white areas than grey/dark).

    It might be O6 that's dysregulated, and seafood helps there. Plus good water.

    This is all subject to questioning, and I'm speculatin' or thinking out loud, so maybe read this as questions, dots-connections in complex systems or points of inquiry/reference. At some point today, I'll check out what data or evidence can tell us.

    No direct take on neolithic diseases in this one. No mention of S2 position; if DHA affecting GLA, and EPA AA, then high levels could be a component of cell potential gradient and binding issues.

    Then again, not sure if PT are setting off from the correct premise, or coming to incorrect conclusions.

    And most of those tests will tell you that you are short (or inconclusive because they do not have upper range defined).
    When in doubt etc, etc,
    Do not do this tests. (most likely the labs are funded by fish oil industry).

    At regular laboratory, LabCorp, Mayo Clinic or similar
    do
    Fatty Acid Profile, Comprehensive (C8-C26), Serum
    and figure the rest by your self.

    What's potentially behind chronic catarrh? For two months, I've been producing cattarh, since I was last ill. Only in the last I started thinking, "Maybe it is time to get some EDTA?"

    May try to take out the nose jewelry, then give it a time to see if makes a difference.
    (Change airflow, some surface may be getting hit stronger and respond with inflammation.
    Same reason as with deviated septum.
    Also, @Jack Kruse may comment on your necklace. (electrical circuits, electromagnetic frequencies, etc...)
