I love your wife's horse! I tried to post an old pic of my horse "Skippy". But I can't figure out how. The horses look totally alike (black with a star and lots of white on the nose, pretty ears and head, quarterhorse?)!! I am curious about the therapy. Is there an injury?

Interesting. My hubby trains racehorses. I've been thinking about how everything I'm learning here might apply to horses. All of the barn lights are CFLs - obviously, those should go. Also, just got back a horse that we won $200k with. He got claimed at Saratoga, and we recently got him back for free because everyone thought his ligament was torn. Turns out, his feet were bad and he has a little damage to the ligament. Added some red light therapy (laser) this week. When I asked the vet about doing it he said, "It's supposed to stimulate the mitochondria." I said, "I'm a believer in mitochondria." lol. Perhaps his mitochondria will get him back to racing condition!

I agree with using our health knowledge on animals. I worry about all the horses kept inside in barns with non-native everything! A friend used to successfully rescue horses. First thing she did was put them in a pasture with grass and sunshine and high quality nutrition. Also successfully used cold laser treatments as needed. I was amazed with her stories! One horse could barely stand upon arrival. A year later was pronounced completely sound by the vet!
