DebraGM My Quest for True Health

I’m now 54 years old and I’ve continually gotten sicker for the last 4 years since 2017. I’ve gained 65 lbs, my energy is low, I had to give up coffee because GERD has set in, and I have anxiety which has affected my capacity to drive, to travel and to socialize, and I have sleep issues. I wear RA optics at night but I’m on my phone too much.

I’ve had previous bouts of health challenges. I gained and lost 80 lbs when I had my 2 children 1999-2003. I started getting ill when I was in graduate school for OT starting 1995. I had to dissect bodies and the formaldehyde bothered me AND I was a vegetarian 1995-99. I also received various vaccines to work in a hospital at that time. It was a time of high stress as well. I nursed both of my children for 2 years each, and lost all the weight and was thin and fit 2004 until I was diagnosed with Hashimoto's 2010. I was freezing, white as a ghost, couldn’t stand light and gained 30lbs. I believe this was triggered by having a mercury filling taken out without precautions. I instantly felt terribly ill. I had many tests, went to many doctors and spent a lot of money. I finally went to a holistic dentist who removed the rest of my mercury fillings and I started to feel better. But It wasn’t until I was given small amounts of hydrocortisone for adrenals that I felt like myself again. From 2013-2017 I was doing great as far as weight and energy. I was working as a health coach and personal trainer and I was a director of a holistic cancer organization where I did podcast interviews with numerous doctors and healers I was gluten/dairy/sugar free.

In 2017 I went through menopause, and I was taking care of my father with stage 4 prostate cancer, my mother with stage 2 laryngeal cancer, and 2 kids after divorce (one with Asperger’s syndrome). Stress was so high and I felt myself spiral down. Weight started increasing and energy decreasing. By 2018 I had gained 15 lbs and felt crappy. I had been self treating my Hashimoto's for years with 25 mcg T3 cytomel 2x a day, because Synthoid made me feel worse and no Dr would listen. My TSH was normal (about 1.0). I seemed to have a problem converting T4 to T3. Every year after that to the present I have continued to gain weight and continued to feel more claustrophobic and fearful. I went from a beautiful fit trainer to a fat introvert.

    Some more pertinent information:

    I was bottle fed.
Lived in Philadelphia until age 10.
Had vaginal yeast infections as young as age 5 and had bad hay fever until my 40s.
I developed asthma around 19 that required inhalers. I went on an anti inflammatory diet and my asthma seemed to go away. I get a bad respiratory illness every winter where I need steroids and inhaler, but other than that I haven’t needed an inhaler in over 15 years. This past winter I started with heartburn that got increasingly worse. I can’t eat large meals, chocolate, tomato sauce etc. I can’t lay down after I eat or bend over. I was on Prilosec for a month and weened off of it.
I stopped taking thyroid meds a year ago. It wasn’t helping and I wanted to see if my suppressed TSH would bounce back to 1.0. It did. T3 levels were low normal. I never took meds again.

I can’t take Vitamin D. It makes me sick. Sperti D light made me sick-aggressive, breathless, overstimulated. Taking B vitamins has a similar effect. I take Vitamin C, Zinc and Magnesium citrate and silver sometimes, but that’s it.

I was always the canary in the coal mine. I stayed away from toxic smells, GMOs, I don’t use a microwave. I use natural products and cleaners and eat organic home cooked food.
I moved 2 years ago (only about 3 min from my last townhouse in large development in a northern suburb an hour from Philadelphia. I now live in a development of only 13 homes. The electric lines are buried. Each home has an acre of land. Pa is a mandatory smart meter state. You can’t opt out. I did buy a faraday cage for the outside of it. But my head buzzes a lot...tinnitus. I installed all incandescent lights. My internet is hard wired and my WiFi is turned off at night.

I have the BRCA 2 gene. My paternal grandmother and all 5 of her sisters died from breast cancer, and my father from prostate cancer at 70. My father became a police officer in his late 40s, worked shift work and developed a love for casinos. I think that was his demise because otherwise he was always fit, no meds ever.

As a teen I had abdominal Shingles and Mononucleosis

I do not get mammograms. Although I did get one at 30 and until the age of 40. I get thermograms. So far they’ve been normal.

My vitamin D has been low for some time. I am going to get blood work soon. I’ll post results.

I have gone into anaphylactic shock twice. Once from HCG diet shot 2012 and once from doxycycline and porcine thyroid med I took at the same time. Very scary. I’m afraid to eat shellfish and peanuts. So scared of going through that again. I love seafood though. I want to be able to eat that again

I am totally in with Bitcoin and want to use my position to move to Florida ASAP. Jack I speak to you on Clubhouse often and I don’t miss a word you say or write. I hope to do a Skype consult soon.

    I forgot an important medical detail. I had a miscarriage 2011 with emergency D & E. I received 4 blood transfusions.

  12. I have read recently that magnesium taken alongside vit d can quell any over-stimulation/irritability side effects from d3.

The other day I took 300mg of magnesium with .5ml of vit d3 liquid (2500 IU) and I experienced almost zero negative reaction.

Red Light might be good a biohack for you while you make the move south... it's helped my Mom and friends in the UK a lot this winter.

It seems to preserve or improve Vit D levels, apparently by lowering inflammation.

The Firewave is great. There are lots of discount codes around, mine is Sean10 if it still works lol, but I'm sure Jack has one and there might be one for 20% off too but you'd have to search instagram probably.

    Hi Shelly

I have experienced similar weight gain since menopause and it has been hard to budge it, so really depressing. Trying to find information on this on the forum but lots of places to look and sift through so it is taking time. I also have noticed my breasts have increased in size in the last 4-6 months and am sure this is related to hormones/menopause but not sure what will help. Seems like some people can have a decrease in breast size at menopause and others have increase so not sure what causes these different reactions. Dr Kruse always talks about increase in size (in general) due to loss of energy which makes sense but how to counteract it?

Nighttime, for usually 1 hour or until fall asleep... Meditate.... I keep it further away these days, but when I was sick I'd pull it closer
