The Origins of Ukraine’s Fascists & Why It Matters, w/ Historian Tarik Cyril Amar

For those who just discovered Ukraine two months ago, the fact that Ukrainian nationalism has been dangerously intertwined with fascism might sound like Russian propaganda. But is it? How powerful is the Ukrainian far right? Are they really linked to Nazis? Why is the corporate-owned media denying this? To place this war and the Ukrainian far right in its historical context, Rania Khalek was joined by Tarik Cyril Amar, a historian from Germany, who is currently associate professor of history at Koc University in Istanbul, working on Russian, Ukrainian, and generally East European history. How yahoo describes the situation.

Azov Regiment commander says theyve completed their task and wants to save lives of his subordinates (yahoo.com)

May 16, 2022 · The commander of "Azov" says that they’ve completed their task and he wants to save the lives of his subordinates.
No weapon will work without professionally trained soldiers, making them the most valuable element of the army.

Wonder what mr. Putin should do.

Details of the Mariupol Surrender – Ukraine War & Aftermath (thedreizinreport.com)

Published by dreizinreport on May 18, 2022

Once all these supermen (and a few women) are collected, the total number of Ukrainian servicemembers in Russian, Donetsk, or Lugansk custody will be approximately 7000 to 7500.

Instead of a rescue on Macron’s limo or the Pope-Mobile, some of these gents and ladies will be breaking rocks north of the Arctic Circle until 2040 or 2050.

Hopefully who are in charge remember that under 30 or more meters under Mariupol's steel factory there is another city.
    25 kilometers of tunnels.
That place must still be full of La Cucaracha.
    That must be fumigated pronto.

If breaking the sound barrier causes a sonic boom, what would breaking the light speed barrier do?
Originally Answered: Breaking the speed of sound causes a sonic boom, what would breaking the speed of light make?
This is actually a good question, and it has a quite well-known answer and it is not another answer here which said “History?”.

The common statement that speed of light cannot be broken is in reality a deficient statement, and causes some misunderstandings. The correct phrasing of what Einstein’s Special Relativity equations imply is “Speed of light in vacuum cannot be broken”.

Otherwise, it is perfectly possible to break the speed of light in, let’s say, water. It is even possible to break its speed in air, but this is rather to state it has no problems in regards to Special Relativity, I know no observation of it personally, but some cosmic particles might be doing something to that effect (maybe not).

    Now turning back to water, we already broke the speed of light in water. And we do it constantly. Underwater nuclear reactors glow blue as in the picture below;

(Advanced Test Reactor of the Idaho National Laboratory)

The entire reason of this glow is electrons being accelerated to speeds faster than the speed of light in water and it is called “Cherenkov Radiation”.

So to your question; as breaking the speed of sound in air makes a Sonic Boom, breaking the speed of light in water makes a Cherenkov Radiation.

Edit 1: Thanks to Franklin Veaux for fixing an embarrassing grammatical mistake.

Edit 2: Apparently my educated guess above regarding cosmic particles' ability to do the same was correct and was a known phenomena for a long time. So yes, some cosmic particles also move faster than “speed of light in air” for some time upon their entrance to the atmosphere. I should've known better. You might want to check HESS Telescope in Namibia and Max Planck Institute for Nuclear Physics in Germany regarding that. Thanks to Benoit Avril for notification.

    Cherenkov radiation - Wikipedia

    Animation of Cherenkov radiation
A common analogy is the sonic boom of a supersonic aircraft. The sound waves generated by the aircraft travel at the speed of sound, which is slower than the aircraft, and cannot propagate forward from the aircraft, instead forming a conical shock front. In a similar way, a charged particle can generate a "shock wave" of visible light as it travels through an insulator.
