LLLT after Laparoscopic surgery?

I'm having an umbilical hernia repaired laparoscopically today; I'm not even going to ask the surgeon (fearing what his reaction will be!), but would you consider using say 10 minutes of 660 nm LED to help the healing process?

    Wonder what you actually had.
Until last year in college I was carrying a ball almost 1/2" in dia on top of my navel.
One day it got flat. I must have scarred it.
Went to ER, doc there cut off the whole ball, put one or two stitches, send me home. All in like less than 5 minutes.
I was really disappointed, mostly in my self, had I knew the deal, I would have got rid of it years earlier.

I am wondering the same thing......

My partner is having a shoulder tear/ rotator cuff repair in a months time.....

Our mission is to have the fastest recovery time. It is a very long recovery for this type of surgery .....9-12 months.

I would like to start icing the shoulder every day and to do some LLLT every day.

We are really unsure which LLLT device to buy and then what frequency to use??????

The surgeon and Osteo have said LLLT is a huge waste of money.....

I am thinking that probably LLLT is used in vet medicine pretty extensively.....

Maybe what we need is a good vet!

Caroline, I'm certainly just a novice, but I recently purchased these lights based on comments Rub has made that LED is a good choice for LLLT because of the wide range of spectrum. I'm hoping to be able to boost both my Thyroid function and Testosterone.

I will keep you guys posted when I get labs.

    610nm – 25% – Orange Red

    630nm – 25% – Red

    670nm – 50% – Deep Red

I also purchased this for IR
    https://redlightman.com/product/infrared-light-device-mini/
    760nm – 50% – Near-infrared

    830nm – 50% – Infrared

On the other hand, I'm also thinking of buying the Vielight laser to try to lower my lipids, as I have numerous genetic issues, including stubbornly low HDL and high LP(a).

    Do not underestimate vets.
They cannot ask their patients where it hurts and are still able to help them.
They deal with variety of species.

Mostly they are multidisciplinary, not like GP sending you to 7 different specialists.
Well for the cataract removal our Gypsy had to go to a specialist.

When we caught racoon with his paw in the can of coke, none of the vets in my town want to help. Illegal.
Finally my daughter found one in the next town.
He did the work for free (just for please keep your mouth shut).
Also got us address to a place where our racoon spend month convalescing, then we got him back to our place so he could re-join his family.
I have not feel so connected to community in the long time.

I certainly don't underestimate a good vet! We had many great Vet friends when we lived in Canada....our town had a vet college.

The men in my life have both used a horse linament for recovery from sore joints.

Thanks Joe. What is your thinking on purchasing both units. You have these and are using them now?

Unfortunately the IR one is out of stock. I just emailed them.

What else are you doing? bone broths? COQ10? anything else?

Joe - did you get both units in a bundle? Pretty good price I guess?

Nope, no bundle, i just didn't have to pay shipping twice. The NIR is more for ache/pains relief since it can penetrates much further, whereas the red is better for near surface level issues and/or just balancing out excessive blue. They come with instructions about where they can applied, and for how long, and at what distance.

I've used NIR on my Forehead and Thyroid. Some say that they can feel cognitive benefits from forehead application, but I haven't found that to be the case. That doesn't mean it is not effective. I've used red on my face, and also the "jewels!" as there have been anecdotal reports of significant testosterone increases.

This interview with a very well know lllt researcher at Harvard is well worth the watch, as its very practical.

Thanks Joe. The bundle seems to be the two that you bought? They seem to be in stock as a bundle......
