Dr Kruse, I am 73 years old and you and your blog are the most exciting thing that I have experienced in my 6 years of retirement. I could see how stretched you were and was worried about you continuing this load. First, I would hope that the blog posts and associated Q&As would maintain the same links, at least for a few months as I have copied all blog posts into Word documents and am now working on copying the Q&As. I use these off line to read as it is difficult for me to read on a computer. Secondly, I have 3 different accounts and passwords on your website. I would like to see one account access all that I have rights to. Thirdly, I would like to see an index of the blog posts, listed by the date they were published.

I feel like I am doing the most important thing I can do for my family and grandkids by investing so much effort into becoming Optimal. I have a long history of poor health, which is improving, and I want to share your knowledge with those that I am close to. You are a hero to me. I could go on to say many positive things about what you have done for me but I can sum this up by saying your blog is a God Send for me in my retirement years.

After reading the comments in this section, I had one more comment. I focus mostly on the blog posts and their Q&As. If you post something on the forum that is not covered on your blog posts, an index to these posts that you deem important would be very helpful to me. I am most interested in your core ideals and posts regardless of where they are on the blog. Also editing errors in posts do not bother me. Your knowledge is pure Gold and I do not mind separating the gravel from the Gold. What ever works for you works for me, just keep going.

And yes, I do love you.

I agree that knowing my journal is public and data-mined makes me very uncomfortable--especially since we are now posting our photos.

Is it possible for the journals to be in a Members Only section?

Journals need to be seen by me so I can direct people and answer their questions with context.

More thoughts on topic. You write about blood tests that would be a proxy for different things, like a proxy for Zinc status. A page with links to these proxy would be a help to me. After a newbie has gone through a certain amount of the material, a monthly fee would be required to continue to have access to what is currently free to all. A little skin in the blog would help weed out those that really are not interested in doing the protocol's, but like to gripe about what you do not do for them.

I think the most important item in all of this is, what do you need/require from the members, so that this again becomes a labor of love. With out you being happy, we will be at a great disadvantage. I think it is unreasonable to think that you will continue to answer all questions in the blog Q&A. I would like to hear from you what you need to love continuing this effort. What ever the answers are, I hope the current material in the blog will be available to us for a period of time, after you quit new posts. You have posted enough pure gold, that it would be a shame to lose this work. Your posts have radically changed my world view of life. I have been looking for you or some one like you, with your skills, experience, passion, resources and guts , for most of my life. Now that I have found you, I want to support your continuing in what ever way I can. I certainly would pay more than the current Gold member monthly fees.

Absolutely! The journals are valuable for all members to read. They serve both informational and social purposes. Some really insightful gems get dropped in journals.

What I suggest is to bring the journals inside one layer of security so Google doesn't pick them up. I'm a member of several forums where some areas are completely public while other areas can be easily accessed by administrators and registered members but not the data miners.

It's disconcerting to search Google and find my personal medical discussion pop up.

Jack is this website the only mechanism you plan on using to transfer your knowledge??

This is easily done by adding "noindex" and "nofollow" meta tags to all webpages in the Optimal Journal section, which should be a one-line configuration change on most forum platforms. I have no experience with this platform, but I'm sure Jack's team can easily sort that out.

If you want to be even more sure, then just change the subdomain from "forum" to "forums" and attach a generic 301 or 302 redirect rule to all forum.jackkruse.com/* paths, which when combined with the previous step, should invalidate the search indexes of a well-behaved search engine (no guarantees that search engines are "well-behaved" though). Again, I'm very sure this is an easy few-line change for the devs behind the site.

Of course, that only protects you from search engines -- real humans can still just click links and find your journal. If you want added protection, then you need to get the devs to implement some sort of access-control scheme, where only people with Bronze, Silver, and Gold status can access selected sections of the forum. I don't know how easy this is to configure on this forum platform. (And of course, there's nothing stopping a member of the site from compromising your information if they choose to be malicious).

Tech Doomsday Sidenote: a rule of thumb is to assume that anything you put on the internet is compromised. That includes all emails not sent over PGP or equivalent combined auth-enc mechanisms, all SMSes, etc ....

A simpler implementation would just to have people be logged in to view certain forums.

This might not be possible but It would be amazing to having some kind of study guide specifically made to help a small group of local people to get together in person to systematically study your work in a organized and efficient manner.

I want to start a local mastermind group of no more than 4 people to study your work in depth to help me/the group to seriously focus on assimilating the old material and then keeping up with the new blogs & webinars.

I want the group small because it will be easier for us to get together schedule wise with less people. Having someone hold me accountable to read through material knowing that we can and help each other understand things we get stuck on feels encouraging as I sometimes get discouraged with not understanding some concepts.

My dream is that all the people in my group are smarter than me as they certainly will elevate me and be motivating for me to step up into who I really am.

IN SHORT: I would love if the new site provided some kind of study guide made specifically for small groups that would like to meet in person to help expedite the learning process.

We can't expect you to do all the work for us. Maybe it will help lighten your load if we rally support systems to study your work in our own neighborhoods so more and more people get on board VS only a small handful of folks online. I love the online community too and look forward to having a local group to add to the genius and super fun online community.

If the blogs were edited and put into sections by topic like a textbbook with some diagrams, you would have a good 2 volume text to date....with significant edits, it might be a single volume and fairly cohesive...

In this day and age it looks as though Online=Local, kind of a tragedy and kind of an opportunity...

Yes very true.... Both are opportunities in their own way and I want both not just one or the other.... BUT truth be told, at least for me, online will NEVER = working with people face to face. Kinda like online porn will never substitute for the real thing :) LOL

If I knew the date order you released all your material along with the titles of each piece you released I would be happy to make a PDF study guide (it will probably actually be several PDF's as there is so much info for one PDF).

Here is how I would do it:
    1. I would make a study guide with a table of contents and after the table of contents the material would be there.
    2. The table of contents would list all your blogs, webinars and the occasional relevant forum post in chronological order from oldest to most recent.
    3. I would specifically make each table of contents item start with the date the info was released FIRST...followed by the title of the blog, webinar or forum posting.
    4. Only a few select chosen forum threads would make the study guide list. Ones that bring new info onto the table that is not already covered in a blog or webinar.
    5. Regardless of when "The Quilt" was made I would list that one first
Here is an example of the chronological table of contents study guide would look like:

    STUDY GUIDE
Following the bread crumbs in the order they were given
***Note most info is free to the public but in order to view the below mentioned webinars you must purchase a membership... sign up!
      • THE QUILT
      • 01/15/2010 Title of blog goes here
      • 01/20/2010 Title of webinar goes here
      • 01/25/210 Title of blog goes here
      • 01/27/2010 Title of webinar Q&A (to above webinar) goes here
      • 02/13/2010 Title of blog goes here
      • 02/15/2010 Title of blog goes here
      • 02/17/2010 Tile of forum post goes here
      • 03/01/2010 Tile of blog goes here
      • and on it goes until I reach the current blog as shown below....

I am sure there are hundreds of better ways to make this study guide but this is the easiest, I think, as others can use this main one to create tailored study guides that cater to specific conditions, or topics by using this main one.

Another option is to make the above table of contents into a page on the website with hyperlinks that link to the individual pieces of work. BUT it would mean that the website would need to make sure the website page addresses do not change or the links go dead. It is probably less work, in the long haul, to stick all the info into a PDF and not have to deal with keeping up weblink hassles and creating trouble ticket after trouble ticket.... as you already know.

Well I began the blog in 2010.......so I just put in google......"jack kruse June 2011 blog" and all the blogs for that month pops up.......so if you do it for every month you can re create the chronologic order for the guide. Somebody could do this for you while you work on other parts. Crowd source it to get it done if you think it is going to help.

Oooo Great Idea! I will do this and if anyone wants to help they can PM me.... I just learned one more thing that the internet could do that I didn't know before. THanks for that tip! One step closer to having an in person master mind group... Except I'm missing the people to meet in person LOL.... I will adopt the field of dreams mentality "If you will build it he will come"
