No, I haven't. It sounds appalling. Like something that you'd be given to eaten in the Gulag.

peameal bacon = whole piece of back bacon that has been rolled in cornmeal .... I used to love it!
not appalling ... at least it wasn't back then:eek:

LOL. It sounded like ersatz bacon made from pea flour.

Why cook the bacon this way. Is it because of nitrates.

Edit: never mind I found my answer. I also found out nitrates aren't a big deal.

There is no need to bake bacon.
Fat, lard is the most important part of bacon,
it is much easier to eat it raw.
Salo is even better than bacon, just harder to find.

    Pogo and drezy like this.

    This blew my mind.

Looks like I'll be baking the bacon while everyone else is gone from the house for the day... bwahahahaha... more (all) for me.

Everyone knows that when it comes to bacon the question:

"Do you want the last piece?"

    Is really:
"Do you want the last piece because I sure hope not!"

He said 200 degrees farenheit or a sous vide... because of the nitrosamines...

With all this bacon talk, is anybody concerned about glyphosate infused corn and soybeans that is pretty universally used as feed?

Not really. I figure there are far greater things affecting my Redox Potential so I'm focusing on fixing them instead.
