Hormones and contraceptives.

A serious question about contraception. I have a hormonal implant, Implanon. Now I’m curious here as to what effects they have on health overall, in addition to circadian and mitochondrial biology, if any.

It would be fitting or reasonable that something that effects hormones and the endocrine system, along with other systems in our bodies, must have other various effects, some of which might be silent until a critical mass or index is reached.

What relevant data or research is out there, from this angle?
