yes, i know it seems to go against all the research i've read too so i'm probably going to go directly to week 5....did you notice any bad side effects from being on HC researching and some things have me nervous: weight gain, thinning hair etc...yikes!

I am sure you are correct beause I have had 4 miscarriages. The two live births that I had were saved by progesterone injections during the first trimester. The Doctor will not give me hormones due to my family cancer history (breast & ovarian) Is there something over-the-counter that can be taken to elevate progesterone? I have to beg to get certain labs done and I don't see her again until the end of July. Is the cytomel used to help the conversion process?

You need a different doctor. Bioidentical progesterone will protect you from cancer. You desperately need it!

Doc, it's been a bust, I'm sorry to say. Without the fat in my diet, I got very hungry on CT, no matter how I tweaked my dose. And I'm an expert at dosing so I knew it wasn't the dose. I stopped doing CT about a week ago now and the hunger has gone away. Losses are finally normal. I don't understand it though. I sure thought CT would be the bomb with hcg. At some point later in the summer, I think I will try CT+the hcg diet without the hcg and see if it works the same. I'll just try it a week or so because I really don't have much to lose but I could tell if I felt the same as on hcg--cold feet, very "up" mood. I just sort of think it might. What do you think?

Or was I doing the wrong kind of CT? I was immersing 3x a week and icing my thighs 2x a week. ChimpChick didn't start CTing until the middle of her round and was just face dunking and sitting on ice cushions, I believe she said. So maybe I'd been doing CT for too long before I tried the hcg. I'd been immersing for 2 1/2 months before I started hcg. I tried heavy whipping cream first then switched to coconut oil halfway through the round. The losses were lousy on cream and nearly non existent on coconut oil. I lost 4.6 pounds in 23 days with the fat +CT which is really lousy. I should have lost about 12 pounds. I didn't lose much in the way of inches either. I'd hoped that even though the number on the scale was low, the inches lost would have been good and the difference was muscle or something but that doesn't appear to be the case.

I'd sure love to figure it out! I love CTing though. I'm going right back to it in another week. I do think my cellulite is better too which is enough reason to do it! :)

Colleen, not to high jack your thread, but how much HC were you on and for how long? I really don't want to be on it but it is helping and I would prefer to wean off it sooner rather than later. Thanks.

hydrocortisone - anti-inflammitory drug also used to help your adrenals if you have adrenal fatigue. should be super small doses (20-30mg) and hopefully for short term.

v- stop the thyroid madness has info on how to wean off it successfully. seems you back off by 2.5 at a time and go slow...ramping up if you get sick or have extra stress in your life.

one thought V- I think cortisol affects blood sugar...perhaps hc Mixed with dairy is responsible for the tummy bloat? i'm just guessing but i recall that HC can affect that....of course you are on a low dose so maybe not

i think i'm letting the internet freak me out - i keep going to the mirror to see if i'm gaining weight from the hc. i've heard so many horror stories of people "blowing up" on it. i'm only on 15 mg though hopefully that wont negatively affect anything and i can wean off after several months. this adrenal group i'm on just said "well expect to be on it for years taking it 4 times a day with possible weight gain" geesh

I didn't gain weight on it. I've never heard of gaining weight on it unless you were on the larger doses people take for arthritis and things like that.

phew...thats what i thought. fingers crossed. if anything i'm peeing more! hopefully getting rid of edema, we'll see

did you wean off it or just stop taking the 20 mg cold turky - how did you know you were ready to get off it? just curious! hope you are doing well! only about a week left to go on this hcg thing :) hasnt been bad at all although i did finally "cheat'" with 99% chocolate after a particularly brutal day at work (literally came home and started applying elsewhere). not good.

Dr. Dzugan just knew by blood results and he cut it in half, (I think) for a couple of weeks then stopped it. I never felt any different. Sorry you had such a rough day! Hope something else opens up!

yes, i have a stressful yet fun job (At least it used to be) in campus recruiting..the stress and the shenanigans are not worth it anymore frankly. i cant put up with things like what happened and the awful hours - the stress isnt good for my health anyways. been thinking of getting out for a while and knew it was only a job to be in for a couple years max, but the latest week just pushed me over the edge :( i basically had chocolate all weekend and even a cocktail which isnt good. i was 100% perfect all round...now its my last week. i was grateful to wake up this morning and still see i somehow still lost more weight this week than last week (!!!)(although last week was my period so potentially impaired by that). gonna go into the rest of this and the next phase super strict. again, job not worth affecting my health

No it's not worth it. Your job should be something you enjoy. I don't intend to ever retire. I like writing too much. :)
