Fun with Magnets

Today I went to the chiropractor. It's been over two weeks since I saw him last. He said my lower back is doing very well today. He seemed a bit surprised. One manipulation that used to hurt badly is no issue now.

My back has been feeling quite good lately, but it's nice to get some confirmation that I haven't caused any harm with my experiments. I was a bit concerned about the temporary soreness in my hips/lower back when sitting near the magnets. But it looks like it may have helped.

And on the way to the chiro, I noticed a bit of a twinge in my throat, so took the small magnet from the passenger seat and added it to my collection under my seat. That did the trick for the way back. Now I have four 65# ones. It's nice, now that I'm back home, to walk around freely without discomfort.

I start to get the munchies, and sure enough, it is about 3pm. (I had removed the magnets from near my chair.) I did have lunch. So I lay down on my Magnetico bed for a bit, and bingo, not hungry. Sorry, I didn't check the time, but it was about 5 minutes. I couldn't stay there long, things to do, so I grabbed a medium-sized magnet (150#) and took it with me to do laundry (set it on the floor). Now it is by my chair. Not hungry a bit.

So perhaps, for now, I could put the magnets away from me until I get hungry in the afternoon, then use them a couple hours. And put away after dinner. I'm usually fine in the evenings.

So- would it be a good idea to wear a bracelet or necklace? - like the one that Gretchen got? Can't wait to hear how she is going with hers ...

I am wondering about a DIY mini pillow or even a sleep pad. Anybody has any thoughts about it?

  5. When you DIY, you have to be careful about pole orientation... you want the north poles of the magnets facing your body. However, even that may be problematic with a small mini pillow or pad, because if the magnet spacing is not optimal (or the size of the pad is smaller than your body), you will be exposed to the south return field. Exposure to the south return field, while stimulating in the short term, is not beneficial (and could be detrimental) in the medium/long run. This is explained in detail on the Magnetico website. I also recall Dr. K mentioning that he expended a lot of time, effort and ducats DIY'ing this in the beginning, and ended up going with Magnetico after all was said and done.

Thank you Jeff. That gives me enough to work with and decide against it if need be. Just reading up on whether being in the southern hemisphere for me things are reversed. Stopping thread hijack now. I will open my own if I pursue it.

So Jeff, just to recap, the magnetico sleep pad gives us the Schuman effect and the magnetic effect all in one?

I'm wondering what you all think of these? They're mini orthotic inserts for your shoes. I like the idea because the most dramatic shifts I feel are when my bare feet hit the ocean water. Would they help keep you grounded?

    MAGNISOLE MINI WHITE
New for 2011 is Trion:Z's foot care line, featuring pain relief orthotics designed to prevent foot, heel, and back pain. Each pair contains 8 anisotropic ferrite permanent magnets combined with a comfortable and reusable arch support. Like other Trion:Z products, each insole contains 1,000 Gauss axially magnetized magnets in a unique alternating North-South Polarity Orientation (ANSPOâ„¢) that increases the penetration of the magnetic field.

I thought about these...but then went for the bracelet and necklace b/c if I feel overwhelmed I can jsut slip it off and put it in my purse. - not so much with the magni sole - and they're not compatible w/flipflops

Curves, if they were all oriented north, I would be interested.

Thanks Nonchalant. I'd better read up on the whole north/south polarity thing some more. :)

Anyone try Ben Greenfield's BioSonic Encoder? "The Encoder is the world’s first piezoelectric vibratory-actuated performance enhancer..."

    My friend bought me one.

Nice flipflops or birks - I will put on my "professional" shoes if I have a big meeting but I'm about being comfortable and looking nice... Dressing to the nines doesn't me you can do your job well...

You are totally right. Although I no longer go anywhere near the lengths I used to go for "fashion" I haven't completely forsaken it either. I used to say "just shoot me if you ever find me wearing Birkenstocks," now it's probably inevitable, the handwriting is on the wall LOL.

I used to be the same way ..... now I can't decide between two pairs of Birks - probably going to have to get both!
I used to really make fun of tree huggers all those years ago.......I need to apologise to so many hippies!

How did they get it so right - and I got it so wrong.....
I am not getting a ring in my nose any time soon tho ......

Curves - how are you finding your bracelet?

    Hilarious Caroline!!!

You know, when she first gave me the bracelet she muscle tested me. I put my arm out, she pushed it down. I held the bracelet and she couldn't push my arm down. Then, I got brilliant. Seriously. I put together pieces of things in my mind that I couldn't put together before. But, I have to say, that initial "charge" was the only time I really felt the difference. Now I take it on and off just to test it out. Maybe it works best in a higher EMF zone? I'm not sure. The jury is still out as far as I'm concerned. I'm tempted to try the magnet bracelets too but I'm wondering if I'll have competing energies. Have you tried any of the bracelets yourself?
