    I think it was CT -2 or 4 when I read your first blog and commented. Since then I haven't been afraid to challenge things and ask why, with some informed views too. Your post on yesterdays Patreon account, summed up a many things from over the years. My response below:

    What amazes me is how true this is but yet how you are considered to be the rogue. The saying "collective fear stimulates herd instinct, and tends to generate ferocity against those not part of the herd" is so clear now. But as you described, the fear is produced by those in charge of the game. The fear also comes from low dopamine levels and the herd instinct then is driven by technology. All so very clear to me now and its what I have to face every day in the athlete world. What people then fail to see is that you are not trying to just be a rebel or lone ranger. You simply want to correct others thinking. The thinking is flawed and a deep re-education is required as well as the fact that many of the current idealogies are profit driven. This goes for so much of todays health, medicine, academia, fitness and performance. As you mentioned, becoming informed and asking why enables you to change your thinking. Yet today we just have illusions of knowledge and social media driven delusions of granduer. A book on respiratory complexes and ATPAse tied in with info on EZ and EMF and electron tunneling begins to change the picture of some very rudimentary things you thought or were told to be true. And alas, this is all you are trying to do with the main cogs of the wheel all coming from natures laws. Maybe time heals what reason can not. In the meantime, keep truckin and I'll do the same.

    I have noticed as the adaption and connection gets deeper the need for water is less. Before I would drink water by the liters. AM would be lots of cold ice water when waking up. But now I seem to function better on less and crave less. obey your thirst....... once tuned in it registers right. My n=1

    it's probably because you have more electrons, protons and quarks and free Oxygen making H20 during respiration..... something to do with light no less too

    You cannot make mitochodrial water sans sunlight. And it turns out that water has some special qualities many of the experts missed. An evolutionary history that is about 4 billion years old.

    So this new study is doing the rounds now for the "keto" brand

    Keto-adaptation enhances exercise performance and body composition responses to training in endurance athletes http://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0026049517302986

    the keto bandwagon is bigging this study up...... I wish I could too, but that's not the case.

    Firstly, they are pushing this "keto-adaptation" when the main physiological goal is beta oxidation. In other words, fat adaptation. Ketosis is just a side show. I think its Volek and Phinney that have coined the expression "keto-adaptation" and they want to hold on to it.

    More importantly, its not the ketotic pathway an athlete needs to upregulate. Its all the other ones.... lipolysis, beta oxidation, cori-cycle, PPP, redox, and all pathways quantum which haven't even been studied yet. Apart from this, they would be probably better off doing some sort of "circadian rhythm adaptation" or "light adaptation" if they really wanted to improve athletic performance.

    also, we are back to just poor research. I have some insider knowledge on this study. The testing was done at a university in Ireland. And lets just say the testing wasn't great. 12 weeks is nowhere near 24-36months as has been discussed here on this blog many times. No idea what foods they actually used with the athletes, or even adhered to. Just macro's stated. Then the researcher himself also doesn't know much about the in's and out's of biochemistry never mind connecting the dots.

    Anyway, more exogenous keto supplements were probably sold..... so the ketards are happy

    I agree. I think Volek and Phinney have set back the needle in this area and guys like Jimmy Moore have really muddied the water. Ketosis is not really about the food you eat. It is about the ability to tap the energy in you adipocytes when you need them during your exercise by using non eating while you are exercising. I think people have conflated two ideas. They have mixed opinion with fact.

    My comments:

    Ferris and Patrick tell people coffee and tea are fine with IFing on a 16/8 hack. I don't. Why?

    I would go the other way because insulin response is only one small factor and it is not foundational with energy as the focl point. It is the darling of the day for LCHF and PhD bio-chemists that is not as important the food guru's make it out to be. Why? They only take into account biochemical pathways and they are not even on the top of th elist of importance when you consiider quantum mechanisms in cells as the pic below shows. Be careful who you listen to on this page. Many parrots for the food guru's show up because they have those "experts" context and have no idea how cells really work.
    ^^^^note the biochemistry occurs on the bottom floor of life's Jablosnki diagram. This is wisdom you'll never get from a food guru or a bio-chemist and why focusing only on food is really a waste of time. Ironically this point is made HUGE in Marino's new biography on Becker's life. You should read it because Marino is a PhD too in physics and he was wise enought to see it. Becker listened carefully to Charlie Bauman and ignored the PhD's in bio-chemistry at his medical school thank god.

    This brings up a point about this paper. linked above......the comments above are trying to make food the key. What does the paper really say? A LACK of food is more critical. This is why Barry and I are entangled on this topic. That is what IFing is fundamental to wellness. Why? Because a lack of food shows you the underbelly of how cells really operate.
    ^^^the incident light EMF controls it all. Not only does it excite the electrons as the left of the slide shows but the light controls protons movements in those biochemical pathways below. It also makes the free radical signals from the incomplete oxidation of food stuffs and this is tied to the deuterium fractionation of what you are eating and the water you are drinking.
    The most important source of H+ is water not food. This is why water does not screw up IFing unless it is got a ton of deuterium in it. But the source of fat you eat matters most in the food equation because of the photosynthetic mechanisms in the food web. Animals are natural deuterium depleters. The best depleters are in the marine web. The other part to get right: The diurnal Noble 2017 for medicine credo: Nature's kitchen’s always open when the sun is up, and she mandates it shuts down when the sun sets. Why? Red light is what controls the flow of H+ in the mitochondria. This is what the food guru is unaware of and it never is filtered in to experimental design or methods so they never see the effect in their data so they never get the proper insight.

    Redox first, ROS/RNS signaling, then biochemistry. Not the other way around. Bio-chemistry Ph.D FAIL. People you need to realize your PhD experts all have a chemical energy bias. They NEVER take the top two bio-physics mechanism into account. for more details on this plase read Dr. Marino's new book on Becker's life. He tells you in there how Becker thumbed the eyes of all the PhD's because his perspective was that of a systems thinker and not a reducutve bio-chemist. It is an eye opening account of why you need to evaluate your "experts" more carefully. They might be smart on one aspect of biology but if it is not the cornerstone what good is their advice? Please read Marino's newest book to see that this is not just my opinion but it was Becker's MO and Marino talks about it in detail in Chapter 3-6 in his latest book. You need to realize why the bio-chemists know about 25% of where energy really comes from. When you see that for yourself you'll see why I am bullish on Becker and Marino and why I hate food guru's. They don't know what is off the menu and those errors hurt their readers/followers.

    Going back a bit on this page, it is my 2nd season of CT, this time no ice-bathing, just environmental adaptation (I live in the frigid north), and I also noticed that my thirst and water intake have drastically declined. Last yr with CT, it cut by half (6L/day to 3L), and now I'm down to 2L with some days even just a bit less. I'm just not thirsty and I am also not dehydrated, or at least I don't seem to be. I am now physically aware of the serious detriment from loss of light (I live at 60*N until Nov 28 when I move "south" to 48*N). I rush outside at blue light time to soak it in, and it actually feels like drinking cold water when parched, but through my eyes and into my whole body. I also have a TBI and some of my sensations are crossed, so that may be why, but the benefit is that I can actually feel it and, thereby, track it.

    I am so very grateful for this forum and the work you do, Jack, and everyone who contributes. Thank you all SO MUCH!!! Your generous sharing of information changed the direction of my life in every way. I now know what matters truly, for optimal health- or I'm learning progressively.

    I'm just reading Going Somewhere at the moment so will line up the new book next .

    Regarding the "worm" study.... well it was worms... ahem. But anyway, yes, AMPK for fasting is what I started out on. And PPAR activation.

    I do actually have a series of athletic "fasting" coming out on my Patreon soon

    What I am interested in and still trying to work out... is where the other 75% energy production comes from.

    I'm with you, its not biochemical pathways.

    I used to be all biochem too.... so its not an easy conversion to the bio-physics.... you'll have cut guys like me and other "guru's" some slack ;-)

    Also , what I will point out, very very few of guys like me are even aware of the word "quantum" and "bio-physics"

    Its a massive brain melter along with shock and fear. To be honest, at the moment, I still think most people need baby steps on the biochemical/physiological pathways before they even get to ATPase tunneling and dueterium and superpositoin etc etc

    get them hooked on something they know, then reel them in. What you're now fishing with is a bazooka
