  2. The article states: "Understanding the pathways linking the cell-specific molecular machineries to their cognate outputs will be one of the major challenges for the future." My concern is that they (researchers) are stuck in a organic-chemical transformation paradigm with the goal of more pharma funding.

    For example they believe, PER proteins form complexes with CRY proteins, undergo phosphorylation by casein kinase CK1ε/δ and are translocated back to the nucleus to repress the transcriptional activity of the CLOCK-BMAL1 complex, thus repressing their own transcription. The concept is a clock-dependent release of dopamine from amacrine neurons, appears to contribute to rhythmicity of gene expression in photoreceptors.

    They have missed the electromagnetic potential when light wave forms stimulated, activate and travel thru the molecular processes.

    For example: the article says, the eye modulates the capacity of the retina to signal to the circadian system.
    However, they don't know how this signal works. It just "signals" along a neuron-pathway to an identified brain location for "processing"?

    Let us bring some light on the subject. We need to understand how the signal works.
