Estrogen and the gut, candida too (can't the odd carb eating carnivore get a break?)

Gastric estrogen directly induces ghrelin expression and production

    in the rat stomach

Ghrelin, an endogenous ligand for the GH secretagogue

receptor, is predominantly produced in the stomach. Little is

known about the regulation mechanism of gastric ghrelin.

Here, we report that estrogen synthesized in the stomach

induces rat gastric ghrelin gene expression and production. We

established a gastric ghrelin cell enrichment method using

Percoll centrifugation and then studied the effect of estrogen

and/or its antagonist on ghrelin expression and production.

Treatment with estrogen for 8 h significantly increased the

level of ghrelin expression, and ICI-182 780, an estrogen

receptor (ER) antagonist, completely reversed this effect.

Reverse transcriptase-PCR analysis clearly showed that ERa

and aromatase are expressed in the female rat stomach.

Moreover, treatment with an aromatase inhibitor, 4-hydroxyandrostenedione

    (formestane), significantly decreased the

level of ghrelin mRNA expression in minced stomach tissue.

In vivo studies revealed that the ghrelin mRNA expression and

production did not change in gonadectomized rat 3weeks after

surgery. These results strongly suggest that estrogen produced

in the stomach directly induces ghrelin expression and

production in both female and male rat stomachs.

Recurring Yeast Infection and How to Get Rid of It For Good

If you get a recurring yeast infection at certain times of the month you are not alone. Many women get them right at the start of ovulation and they last until menstruation, and then go away only to return again at ovulation the next month. Other women get them at other times of their cycle but this is not as common. If this is you, then this treatment plan will solve the problem in the least amount of time.

In a scientific study done in 1999 by Paul L. Fidel Jr., Jessica Cutright, and Chad Steele of Louisiana State University, and published in the American Society of Microbiology in 2000, they found that progesterone has no effect on vaginal candida in mice but excess estrogen promoted its growth. They also found that excess estrogen reduced the ability of skin cells to prevent colonization of candida on the vaginal walls.

Estrogen is responsible for glycogen levels in the vagina and glycogen feeds yeast. Excessive levels have been linked to breast cancer and reduced function of the Thymic gland. The Thymic gland helps immune system t-cells that are grown in the bone marrow mature. At a certain stage of t-cell growth in the bone marrow the t-cells migrate to the thymic gland to mature. Upon maturity of the t-cells, the thymic gland releases them into the body.

Because recurring yeast infection becomes hormone dependent in the vagina and feeds on imbalances of hormones or the sugar produced by excess estrogen, you should test your hormone levels to determine what they are or you could just treat yourself for excess estrogen, its your choice. The most accurate test is by saliva testing. This test can be done in the comfort of your own home by mail and I recommend the test below.

A 5 Panel Saliva Hormone Test is the best way to test for hormone imbalances related to recurring yeast infections.

What is the evolutionary purpose for yeast, to give b- vitamins to bring the metals back to the liver for redistribution?

Interesting.... guess this might be one of the reasons I had persistent thrush the first year after the deliver of each kids while nursing/pumping....
