Do all planets in the solar system offer the same redox?

At Earth, auroras are usually visible only in a belt surrounding the magnetic poles, between 65 and 80 degrees latitude. Beyond 80 degrees, auroral emission disappears because the magnetic field lines leave Earth and connect to the magnetic field in the solar wind, which is the constant flux of electrically charged particles ejected by the Sun. These are called open field lines, and in the traditional picture, Jupiter’s and Saturn’s high-latitude polar regions are not expected to emit substantial auroras.

Yet they do. They also are highly remarkable for being unique.

Jupiter's auroras emit Xrays. That is not so good for the redox status of things below unless your are Xray film. Jupiter’s X-ray auroras are different and unique. They exist poleward of the main auroral belt and pulsate, and those at the north pole often differ from those at the south pole. These are typical features of a closed magnetic field, where the magnetic field line exits the planet at one pole and reconnects with the planet at the other. All planets with magnetic fields have both open and closed field components.

Pulsating X-ray auroras can be linked to closed magnetic fields that are generated inside Jupiter hydrogen helium liquid metallic core and then stretches out millions of miles into space before turning back to the source of the field.

Space researchers used measurements taken by NASA’s Juno spacecraft orbiting Jupiter, with data from ESA’s (the European Space Agency’s) Earth-orbiting XMM-Newton mission and found while observing Jupiter continuously for 26 hours and saw X-ray aurora pulsating every 27 minutes.

The problem is it was not immediately clear how the energy required to produce Xrays at the poles was generated.

The Jovian northern and southern lights are triggered by ions crashing into Jupiter’s atmosphere. But scientists had no idea how the ions responsible for the X-ray light show are able to get to the atmosphere in the first place.

    What did they find?

They found that fluctuations of Jupiter’s magnetic field caused the pulsating X-ray auroras. The outer boundary of the magnetic field is struck directly by the particles of the solar wind and compressed. These compressions heat ions that are trapped in Jupiter’s extensive magnetic field, which is millions of miles away from the planet’s atmosphere. This is why This triggers a phenomenon called electromagnetic ion cyclotron (EMIC) waves, in which the particles are directed along the magnetic field lines. Guided by the magnetic field, the ions ride the EMIC wave across millions of miles of space, eventually slamming into the planet’s atmosphere becoming squeezed by the crushing magnetic field and this releases highly powered photons that triggering the X-ray auroras.

Why do I like this story?

Volcanic eruptions are electromagnetic magnetic phenomena tied to the connection of the solar wind to a planet's magnetic field, This means CNE is not the only way our sun distributes information to our planet using light. Xrays are used on Jupiter but I believe heat is used to power the magneto dynamo in the Earth using the thorium atom as its target to move the tectonic plates using geothermal energy.

We now know, at Jupiter, the magnetic field is filled with sulfur and oxygen ions being emitted by the volcanoes on the moon Io. At Saturn, the moon Enceladus jets water into space, filling Saturn’s magnetic field with water group ions.

Now for the punchline.........what does all this science mean when silly talking monkeys fill their ionosphere with geoengineered atoms?

    HAARP anyone?

Might geoengineering be used to alter a planets' redox potential? The Jupiter data says yes.

The moon's redox is capable of altering the redox state of Earth.
Did you know if our eyes could see gamma rays our Moon would look brighter than the Sun? So the next time a skeptic asks you how the ancients got cataracts before the power grid and fake lights were invented remember this post.
Cosmic radiation is not usually part of terrestrial sunlight and this is one of the ways more cosmic radiation can harm us here on Earth.
NASA Fermi's Large Area Telescope has been able to analyze the Moon’s gamma-ray glow as a way of understanding cosmic rays.
