Die Off Symptoms?

  1. Well, i have lots of it around the tub from back in the day when i used to take hot and oil infused baths. So Im going to try it!

    As a bodyworker I always told my clients to hop in an epsom salt bath to relieve muscle aches and pains. It's been a while since I've done tissue work and I don't remember why I told them that but it must have had something to do with the benefits of the magnesium being absorbed through the skin for fast action. And maybe it detoxes things too. At any rate I can't see that it would be harmful.

    Ugh! I still have the rash on my face and arms. I don't even put these in the water! Why would this pop out 4 weeks after I start CT? I would have thought the detox would have started ealier as I don't have much fat to lose. How is everyone else doing with their rashes? I can try the ES. I have to go get some tomorrow!

    I am also experiencing bad rashes on my lower abdomen. They itch like crazy!

    What is like to know is how does one tell the difference between urticaria rash and a rash related to toxin release?

    When I was having pimples from a detox last year, Paul Jaminet suggested using cholestokynin ( I think that was the name or something similar) for mopping up toxins in the gut - so they don't get reabsorbed. I couldn't get that but I found activated charcoal worked very well - a couple of capsules after breakfast. I wonder if this might help those of you with rashes?

    Head and neck rash/scabbing - after 3 weeks of confusion/stoicism, slowly clearing with 4 days of CT break and neem oil 2x/d (stinky but effective). Mine started 2 weeks after CT :p go figure.

    Oh yes, that's right - that was it. It's only available on prescription here in the UK and I didn't fancy my chances in explaining to my doctor why I wanted it! I knew however that charcoal is sometimes used for detox in livestock so I thought that would probably work fine and it did.

    My detox started in the second week with diarrhoea and is continuing on and off with a progression of symptoms. I'm 5 weeks in now. Diarrhoea then pimples, then streaming cold, then headaches, then skin peeling inside mouth, then incredibly itchy eczema. I hope it won't last much longer. Jack said that the detox pathways upregulate after a few weeks so the symptoms tend to get easier even if you have lots of fat to lose.

    However, I'm certain the detox is a good thing - someone who hasn't seen me for a month today commented how pink and healthy I look at the moment.
  11. So... I'm about a month into CT now. We've been swimming in our 48-50 degree pool lately. The last couple of weeks I've had INCREDIBLY dry skin. Dry skin on places on body I've never had dry skin. It's kinda flaking. The last couple of days I've had a terrible sore throat and post nasal drip. I used to have this pretty much constantly when I was younger (doctors said allergies), but haven't had much problem with it in recent years. Sooooo... is it likely that these are side effects of the CT? Or am I just getting sick? How do you know the difference? When does the GOOD stuff start happening (I know I know... probably different for everyone). I really am trying to be patient :)

    I had post-nasal drip for a day. Again, I think my die-off is easier than a lot of others b/c I already went through 6 weeks of die-off hell on GAPS over a year ago.

    My belly fat is melting away like butter on a hot summer day. :)

  13. THIS I am jealous of! I weigh less than after my second pregnancy, but my belly is bigger. Will this belly ever look half normal again after a twin pregnancy.. I do not know. But I'm praying some of this fat melts off and the skin pops back even just a bit!

    Don't worry, my belly still looks worse than it ever did before the BED really got out of hand. But take hope - have you seen Glam's post-twin belly pics? Besides, why should a twin belly be all that much worse than any other fat belly? Lots of people start having this result when the hormones that ut the belly fat there start to reverse themselves.

    Are you CTing while breast feeding? I don't think dr.k recommends that because of toxin release. It's your business of course but figure I'd mention it in case it didn't come up and please don't stress about it if it didn't.
  16. I am. I had posted on his blog a little over a month ago letting him know my situation. I've been low-carb/keto for quite a while, but still gaining weight while nursing. He recommended doing the leptin rx and ct. Started both the next day (really the diet wasn't much different besides the BAB). Haven't lost any weight, but haven't gained any in the past month... so I guess that is something.

  17. I haven't seen those pics. Really what it is with my belly that is different after the twin pregnancy is that it screwed up my abdominal muscles because I don't think I have much/any more fat there. The muscles that used to hold my belly in more aren't doing a very good job!

    So, breastfeeding & die-off. Dr. Campbell-McBride says it's okay to do GAPS, but not Intro, while bf'ing. Well, I've been bf'ing for 14 years and expect, the Lord willin', to do so for another ten or so. My compromise was that I would do Intro slowly, and with any signs of detox in my non-Intro baby, I'd give her epsom salt baths and back off on the intensity of my diet immediately. It worked well.

    She's almost 2.5 now, and still nursing, but m die-off with CT has been very mild. If it was worse, I'd follow the same thing I did with GAPS.

  20. I haven't seen anything funny in either of my babies. Milk production is as good as ever. In fact, the way my body produces milk I could probably nurse another one or two. I'm a regular milk cow...ha!
