Oh man, Dreze -- I worry that if you were to eat turkey, suck up UVs, and do CT, the resulting altered state might be contraindicated for your Inner Medicinal Chemist to learn anything new. Although, perhaps, the resulting altered state might lead to your channeling the answers to all y/our questions?? One way, or any of the others -- have a great holiday break!

In nature we use the sun, cold, low d food and glacial spring water all in seasonal context to keep d in proper areas and amounts in the body. When you live in a toxic enviroment: nnemf, Blue light, D-bomb food and water you can purchase the expensive water to make up the diffference for being a silly talking indoor monkey.

I never understood turkey. Even as a kid I'd prefer gravy with a side of gravy, though slaw and sweet potato soufflé made it onto my plate often...

I'm mostly on board and I think my outdoor time at my latitude and location plus CT can work wonders. I'm still reserving the right to do a couple months of DDW on certain birthdays (once every 3 or 5).

You might argue that I should instead take that money and float in a cenote instead and you'd have a compelling argument.

Its been bugging me why Boros is involved with DDW yet chooses to use olive oil. But I've come across something about extra virgin olive oil which might provide a clue."The polyphenol hydroxytyrosol (contained in EVOO) can support complexes of the mitochondrial electron transport chain, stimulate mitochondrial biogenesis and block the lipogenic switch, thereby assisting energy production by mitochondria. Olive oil polyphenols can also protect against neurodegeneration and depression by increasing the expression of neurotrophins such as nerve growth factor (NGF). This neurotrophin helps to concentrate mitochondria at sites for axon growth in neurons. Without mitochondrial ATP, axon growth is inhibited". (References given, book is Mitochondria in Health and Disease. Personalised nutrition and lifestyle medicine for healthcare practitioners. Author Ray Griffiths).

Manufactured Preventa DDW is just a step in direction of understanding how things work.
Drink DDW and it helps in general way.
Induce own DDW production and you are closer repairing the essence of the process.

We are build differently than spiders or camels.
I think there may be some minimal amount of drinking that body can tolerate, thinking specially of kidneys.
It would be easier think about if we knew Boros daily urine production.
I think it should be more than what he drinks.
There is a member here who also drinks 0.25L/day, possibly hi monitors that. Benjamin please post that info if you read this.
    @Benjamin Stone

Have you figured what fatty acids are actually used in DDW production in the Matrix?

Apart from specialised water conservation adaptations, camels rehydrate with massive amounts of deuterium loaded water when they get a chance. They aren't permanently relying on matrix generated DDW for all their physiological needs. My thought experiment has been that if 100 healthy camels trekked across the desert in the heat but that at every watering hole the water was deuterium depleted, say to 110 ppm, how long would they remain healthy? With deuterium being in sperm, and if a minimum amount of deuterium was needed in camel milk to ensure healthy growth of offspring, what would happen to fertility rates and infant mortality? REM sleep depletes deuterium, so would chronically low deuterium stop them entering REM sleep to conserve deuterium? Too low blood levels of deuterium is implicated in poor wound healing (Somylai book). The camels would have the high UV, but if there is not enough deuterium in the blood for the solar squeeze to make UVC, what is the increased risk of infection?

Humans have a circadian rhythm for ADH, and getting thirsty and not drinking to satisfy thirst may raise my ADH at a time when it should be low, but what are the repercussions on say the circadian rhythm of mitochondrial fission and fusion? (Excessive fission is linked to breast cancer metastases, and other problems. Excessive fusion is linked to potential of damaged mitochondria fusing with and undermining healthy mitochondria in a process called mitochondrial contagion). Would it affect mitochondrial motility? When we don't have the same specialised water conservation adaptations as the camel, what are the repercussions to the cells giving up matrix DDW to support the survival of the organism as a whole during the active/feeding stage part of the day in strong light cycles?

Boros regime may be right for his n=1 context, but I'd need to understand the day/night, seasonal and latitude dynamics of mitochondrial function in relation to my own context, before accepting that drinking minimal amounts of water to induce my own DDW gets me closer to repairing the essence of the process. I'm interested in what Boros knows, but what he doesn't know may be more important for my n=1.:)

Thinking about fat burning overnight (when we wouldn't be drinking water) …..

The wiki entry for oleic acid says its the most abundant fatty acid in human adipose tissue, and second to palmitic acid in abundance in human tissues overall. The entry for palmitic acid says that in one study the analysis found palmitic acid to make up 21-30 percent (molar) of human depot fat, and that excess carbs in the body are converted to palmitic acid. Also that palmitic acid is a major, but highly variable, lipid component of human breast milk.

Interesting in relation to what Boros is doing, I don't remember him saying it was EVOO. Over 2% free acidity is classed as "not edible." https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Olive_oil_acidity. "Olive oil" is something I wouldn't give house room to, let alone drink therapeutically, because although our refined olive oil is treated to improve the free acidity to make it edible, its the processing, being less likely to be top quality olives, and its usually in clear plastic bottles.

Very interesting Sue. It makes me woder about the olive oil on sale here. I only had a quick look but found this.
PPAR is a fatty acid sensor that enhances mitochondrial oxidation in insulin-secreting cells and protects against fatty acid-induced dysfunction

@Jan, I have not paid attention to my urine output. I will try to remember to do this and report back. The colour is pale straw if you care to know. Yesterday I drank less than a 100ml, which is not atypical on a rest day when eating fresh fatty meat. I find it off putting actually to drink anything on such days and may experiment just not drinking. I will note when I have older dry aged meat, my water intake is higher than fresh meat/fat days.

    @Jack Kruse said:
Water fasts increase total body water and deplete deuterium in the matrix to affect some key pathways in the cell, namely glutathione.......
I think that contradicts what dr Boros says
    unless there is another explanation.

And I think there is, (but have to be explained).

Usual, or at least my understanding of water fast is:
    do not eat only drink.

But fast means do not use when fasting, so
    water fast=do not drink water

So there is a good looking cake (made of (true) olive oil)
and you can eat it too
    just do not drink (H2O)

    Boros is saying

if you drink, that prevents body’s water production and lowers ADH, ATP engines are not rotating

you are left without metabolic water (1:35:40)

Stop drinking that much water. (1:35:19)

Yes oleic acid and palmitic acid are major suspects.
Actually I have seen oleic acid being of interest in my
    Spectracell Micronutrient analysis

    Other than that
I would like to see Boros or similar referring to then on his charts (which would say that they are the only involved in water production.

    Spectracell says:
Fatty Acid Profile, Comprehensive (C8-C26), Serum

But my fatty acid analysis says that while I am ok I could use more of this good stuff.
    Ideally I should have 2320
    but actually have 1870

OTOH I am pretty good as far as Palmitic acid goes.

Only state of California requires that what is on the label of bottle with oil
should mach content of that bottle.

I buy only olive oil where label says that the oil was made in California.
