How do you guys feel when moving in nature? I there a difference if you are grounded or not, if you have you solar panel covered or not?
Yesterday I felt this weird presence of something guiding me. We were just short time outside at 0°C barefoot and upperbody naked in beautiful sunshine. As I would running over the grass it felt something was guiding me and movement became so instinctive and natural - fluid. We had a indoor course before with movement (lucky me not artificial lights on) and I could notive a difference right away. Completely other feeling in movement. Also if nature wants you to to do something. So strong I never felt it before.

My most wonderful moving in Nature is when picking oysters naked on the ocean floor...

I feel just so in the here and now, such a joy and happiness, so perfectly happy and thankful being in the moment... I just cant describe it.... but it is as.. everything is just... perfect! :) :)
For me to be grounded and naked in nature is the best!
Somehow it shuts my brain down. I am breathing, my whole body is breathing in sync with everything.... There is no needs anymore, nothing you want or need or miss.... Pure magic :) :) :)
Freedom :) :) :) Innocence... like a Child.. curous what beautiful looking oysters I will find the next, what crabs or fishes or birds or creatures I will meet...
Barefoot, connected, little or no clothes.. in the wild... That is feeling like... coming home
I am alone, but I do not feel alone, not one bit!

  6. Has anyone done the MovNat workshops that they can share? The new weekly MAPS emails are great. I am doing a few exercise "snacks" daily rather than crossfit. I bought myself a jump rope and a kettlebell and use that at home outside.

  7. I love Movnat! Are you talking about the new series that just came out with Katy Bowman? Ive heard good things about it. There are a lot of Movanat videos on YouTube that I use. Katy Bowman's books are also phenomenal.

  8. I havent seen the new series! I am using the Youtube videos for now but want to take an in person class for tips and pointers. I feel like a damn turtle trying to get up from the low squat to standing!

You may like the BirthFIt videos. My chiro is the regional director in NC and she has some great videos on it. I do the functional progression outside when I think of it. It mimics how babies build the correct muscles to go from laying to standing. Super cool stuff especially because women are not supporting their cores properly for uterine strength and pelvic health. The functional breathing and just the first couple of movements have been all I've worked on for months and it's astounding at the difference in my core strength! I think a lot of the other types of fitness regimes do not honor womens bodies well- pre, during and post pregnancy. It's very empowering to embrace your body as a women and also build strength! I sometimes do heavy lifts too, but outdoor movement and BirthFit is a great foundation.

My take on natural movement is 'your way' up to your limits and keep going.
I teach martial arts and the weirdest thing I see on the net is male instructors teaching women how to move like a male.

Its rediculous and completely takes away from the power of natural in motion.

Yeah sure take some tips and ideas but in the end its really just your gender and nature... 'shin-do' (let nature guide you).

"Letting go isn't scary. Holding on is".

  12. Have you looked for MovNat trainers in your area? Maybe they have some classes they teach! https://www.movnat.com/find-a-trainer/

I have thought about getting a level one certification from them, and if I like it level two. I feel like it would be really interesting and be another way to have a cash flow doing something good for myself and others. The new series was just released a few weeks ago. I think it is $300 for 6 hour long classes. I have heard it said from those who have bought it that there are movements in it and correctives that are not found in any of MovNat or Katy Bowman's other works.

  13. Yes I have, theres a gym near-ish to me that does MovNat workshops but no classes on the regular. I would love to have something regular to attend.

  14. I think that would be really great! I wonder if there is any where that there are regular MovNat classes? Maybe I found my niche ;) I know Katy Bowman has regular classes but she is on the West Coast. She trained a lot of Restorative Exercise Specalists who sometimes do classes -- maybe look for one of them?
