    Circadian biology of breast feeding.........

During TBI workups we ask mothers about breast milk production and function because it is also tied to the circadian mechanism. Yes, even breast milk has a Circadian diurnal rhythm. All the aromatic amino acids are utilized diurnally when the sun is out and the non-aromatic ones, like methionine used in heavy metal clearance and methylation are used at night. Cortisol is the hormone that wakes humans up. So, more cortisol is made from pregnenolone and the aromatic amino acids for alertness in milk produced during the day. More tryptophan to create melatonin for sleep and regeneration in milk produced during the night. Nature seems to make sure they match the sun's diurnal variations to gain physiologic function to make an optimal child. The human breast has to be programmed by sunlight to make sure adequate milk production is present to deliver DHA and lipids to fuel ketosis to myelinate and develop the brain of the infant via the light and cycles. Many women who are blue light toxic or live with heavy amounts of nnEMF cannot make breast milk and have to rely on synthetic foods to feed their kids. These women tend to have a higher C section rate too. No surprise since uterine contraction and the apocrine breast glands use the hormone oxytocin to control this process. Nature clearly does not want to have an upset infant who wants to keep themselves and Mom awake all night long.

so even though bottle feeding misses out on some necessary benefits of breastfeeding (skin contact etc) I suppose a useful hack for mama who does occasionally pump and store milk ... label those milk bottles according to time of day they were pumped, and only feed baby from bottles during the same times of day as the milk was pumped.
