I guess people are really lazy enough that they can't figure out how long they should brush their teeth.... they'll also buy anything with a flipping gizmo in it too.... b/c its ADVANCED/MODERN or has TECHNOLOGY!!!!
  3. how can it be that they had it sorted when they were 5 years old and all of a sudden a machine has to tell them...

It comes down to humans wanting to be told what to do instead of creating the thought themselves... there is less effort involved if you only have to stop when told vs tracking how long you've been brushing and making a decision. Obviously, people could argue they are half asleep when brushing their teeth in the morning anyways, but it seems that it doesn't end with the simple things...

Stuff like this is interestingly humiliating for our species: http://newsoffice.mit.edu/2014/want-happy-worker-let-robots-take-control

We're supposed to time how long we brush? Not just stop when we get the notion? Guess it's another of those things I've been doing wrong all my life...

Hahaha, now look what Silicon VCs are funding -- http://www.bothsidesofthetable.com/...ous-plan-to-make-electricity-as-easy-as-wifi/

That's Mark Suster talking about uBeam -- http://ubeam.com/ . It's an attempt to make Wireless Electricity for wireless charging of phones, wearable devices, etc ... o_O

But as much as I'd like to mock that, the underlying technology, Ultrasonic Transduction, is attempting to do the transmission via sound waves. I don't know what that means, and I don't know the nnEMF implications. It'll probably kill you faster today, but maybe it's the inklings of a first design that allows us to turn nnEMF into harmless forms of energy ...

this is scarier than anything I've seen. well almost. but I don't like it. wouldn't surprise me if the military industrial complex is funding this.... b/c they'll leverage it in the long term.... and figure out how to not only use it, but deny access to it as well....

have been talking about this for some time now, whether it would be doable to create a tech free communities in the near future. I think many of you (including myself), we are trying our best to live in the nature as far from the tech as possible and the same time keep the money entering the house. We have been dreaming a lot about the social, philosophical and practical aspects of these communities. I think it could be the correct thing to do, because that would allow for socializing and selfsufficience, which both may be the weak points of trying to escape family by family.

Hehe, commentor on Hacker News says this is impossible -- https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=8542054

He links to this blog explaining the details -- http://www.eevblog.com/2014/08/07/ubeam-ultrasonic-wireless-charging-a-familiar-fish-smell/

But you know much more than most people about the military industrial complex
