I use fleur de sel exclusively. It's the one salt in water I don't mind drinking throughout the day. :)

I wonder if soaking your feet in a solution of sea salt for 30 minutes while being in the sun would increase your body's salt concentration without having your feet swell up?

We're both well thanks. Except for broken bone in my right foot while swimming - you didn't know it was such a dangerous activity did you? It's my right foot so can't drive supposedly for 6 weeks. Been CT's it morning & evening so will be interesting when I get Xray next week to see how much it's helped.
Just got back last night from a 2 week house sit near Nambucca Heads, very smoky from south of Sydney to Benalla. No fires near us thank goodness. It's been horrendous hasn't it.
How are you & Tony going?

MatD1995 - how do you take 5-7tsp of salt/day? Do you eat of off a spoon, put it on food or put it into water and drink it? I thought putting salt into water is not a good idea..

Do you drink the salt in water? On food only? I’ve read about variations in intake and how they affect the body. What about iodine? I have POTS too :)

POTS suffered here, too. I get as much Celtic salt as I can in broths and salting food as much as possible but still think I'm under the target 9 gram . Wondering how to get there without adding salt to water

Just eat the salt on its own. I just pour a big pinch, maybe half a teaspoon on my palm and throw it in my mouth a few times a day.

Does this screw up leptin signaling? I'm wondering if salt would cause a spike in insulin

Wouldn't drinking salt water do the same thing?

Doesnt Dr Kruse say we're not supposed to take in salt away from meals because of its conductivity?

How many meals a day do you eat?

If you eat 3 meals, then just eat half a teaspoon of salt during each meal and you should hit your target of 9 grams.

If you eat 1 meal then maybe eat half a teaspoon before the meal, half tsp during the meal, and then another half after the meal.

You don't need to dump it all on the food, or add it to water.

But your salt intake should also be tied to what you eat and how much you eat. Most importantly, how much potassium are you getting from food. For me red meat goes together with salt like nothing else. When I used to eat plants, it was salt with potatoes which are also high in potassium.

I'm at 3 meals a day, still can't keep my blood sugar up enough to get to 2. I drink nine broth at least 2 meals a day so I get a fair amount of salt from that but have been adding 1/2 tsp of Celtic salt with water with all 3 meals lately. Have to be careful with diarrhea, though...

My first half year into doing a carnivore diet and with a short eating window. I would quite often experience something like POTS, at that time I still suspect that I had some level of fatty liver, because eating a bit too much carbs would trigger uncontrollable cravings.

You could try eating some protein every 1 to 5 hours, to even wake up after 5 hours of sleep to eat. Also eating really high protein like 200g a day could maybe do some good for you too. Of course plenty of wild seafood and spring water I'd say is really important also.

I def have liver problems since I have a lot of trouble digesting fa . Honestly, I think ive had that my whole life. And ditto on the cravings after eating carb.s thing.
What I've been trying lately is anytime I get hungry after a meal I take in a lot of fat via coconut oil or coconut milk and egg yolks (with salt). Hoping the MCT's wont clog up my liver and it will provide a little more energy. Seems to help slightly so far. Going to keep at it

I experienced the same problem years ago too. But later on I increased my potassium intake. Now everything is going smoothly as far as feet swelling and cramps are concerned.
