Anxiety and Mitochondria

Discussion in 'The Leptin Rx' started by Matt Fowler, Jan 12, 2021.

  1. Does poor functioning mitochondria cause severe anxiety/panic symptoms similar to those described in "adrenal fatigue" cases?

I am currently switching back to the leptin rx after two weeks of Christmas food and my anxiety is off the charts. Its winter here in the uk so the light intensity is down, as is the time I spend outside.

I was reading one of the blogs last week - trying to understand the science and clear my brain fog. After a few days my mind had racing thoughts and my anxiety was massive.

I seem to be more susceptible to the effects of stress during winter, and better in the summer when the quantum yield is better. Is this because my mitochondrial redox is worse during the 6 months of low light intensity we have every year here?

After exercise or swift activity which includes mental stimulation/pressure, my stress gradually builds up into a panic state. I always thought this was Adrenal related.

    Thank you
