I wish I had some words of wisdom, but I'm afraid I don't. I will pray for you.

Sometimes when I feel overwhelmed, I close my eyes and envision a river of energy. Then I will my body to start absorbing energy from the river. I lay still with my eyes closed feeling the energy flowing into my body until I start to feel calm and stronger. As you breath in, feel the energy flowing into your cells. Breath out and feel your body relaxing. I guess this is probably a type of meditation and I find it works for me. I used it nightly on the week leading up to my procedure.

    As for a heart rate,
    try this:
get all ready, do the whole test sitting
    measure your pulse
take 1/2 teaspoon potassium bicarbonate (amazon.com)
measure your pulse 20 minutes later
    draw conclusions
Above not only lowers my pulse but also nightly muscle cramps disappear.

potassium (RBC) test is hard to get

they were happy with most xcept heart rate, but decided they had been very successful so downgraded me to
common cardiologist and my own surgery ;) better for me. if they had not like they would not have released me .:thumbsdown:
they were a bit pissed off i was back living on my own, but that poor lovely lady who took me in , probably
    had enough after 2.5 weeks:D
cant do anything for another 6 weeks . i saw radio , i have rings 6 or8 holding the sternum. thats what they worry about
seems it takes 2 years to heal
and i cannot catch anything as they worry it goes on the valve and have to reopen (feck that):alien: teeth are important .

giving u as much info as i can would interest @Huck

Anne, have you asked your doctor if sleeping inclined could help your heart heal?
I did read some people with heart isues got help from that....at least it would be an easy thing to try. You just need someone to help you lift the bed and put some books under the feet as you cant lift anything for now..

@caroline , thanks for note about gratitude.

i received this evening email... to do with lawyers of mother estate. the friend who helped us (payingnow, for 10% of estate
    now wants out.
so just received a demand for 60000 CHF (same as $)
got really stressed and angry for 15 mn.

then thought i am grateful for it. why always be grateful for the good. why not be grateful for what we perceive as bad.
i am already a lot less stree.

change the way i think, i can change my life .

bought myself a beautiful bunch of flowers.:D:thumbsup::love:

Hi Anne ....this gratitude thing is really a learning curve I feel.

Being stressed and angry is definitely not good for you .....so flowers was a fantastic idea!

    Do that more often!:D
