Lots of cool things are going on with the Mexican government now and in Salinas. He owns 1.3 billion dollars in BTC and last week I was able for the first time to use the lightning network in Mexico at one of Salinas' stores.

I expect Mexico to do some big things with Bitcoin in the next three years.

    I'm bouncing around Mexico now....

Torn between the Pacific coast area two hours north/south of PV and the Gulf side. The biological side pulls me to the gulf, but I sure do like the smaller communities on the Pacific. Trying to find the most conservative old school area not too far from some decent health care if needed.... I can't believe how much the Gulf side has exploded in the last 30 years. Lots of people....

Hope to plant a new zip code flag soon to offset the long winters in the Backcountry of the Rockies.

Lots of big changes going on in Mexico below the surface. The changes are likely going to start in Qunitana Roo first I think.

So far the Playa del Carmen area has been my favorite on the east side…..only worry is amount of people. I don’t remember this many people between Cancun and Tulum 30 years ago. I could see it being packed solid in the next twenty years….I must be getting old.

I agree. PDC does have a population problem but it is no where as serious as a city in the USA greater than 200K people. Cancun got 5G. PDC might get it......but still does not have it.

I think because gringos are in QR more than any other place, Bitcoin will infect this area to serve them. I think the last place in Mx is shows up is in Mexico City.

The difference between the US and Mexico is that one is run by ruthless drug cartels with government connections that coerce its people into injecting strange substances to partake in everyday life. The other has great food, murals, mariachis and some of the world’s best beaches.

I've noticed more places in Mexico are starting to talk about Bitcoin....

    4/5G

Just a heads up anyone looking in this area….

Found some guys to take me around Sayulita to check out all existing cell towers. Currently 3G but might be headed to 5G in near future.

What kind of cash is best for Mexico? US$$ or Mex pesos?

Should we buy pesos at the airport in Sydney? Or wait until we get to Mexico City?

What happens when CPI is skyrocketing, the FED Fund Rate is at ZERO and the Yield Curve is inverting ALL AT ONCE? Now try to find a time where that also happened in the past...

We no longer have a 3 legged stool for life. It is now 4 legged. Light, water, magnetism, Bitcoin.

If BTC has to displace one of the original 3, water is the one. That should make everyone in Mexico realize why staying there vs ES now makes very little sense.

Makes no sense if you're purely driven by the 3 stools and Bitcoin.

Makes a tonne of sense if you look at life outside that lens.

I think there's more to life than just those 3 stools, or 4 stools. You need to be happy where you are too.

I tried CR, Pacific/ Oaxaca MX, Guatemala... Same thing everytime... don't vibe? don't bother.

As a 28 y/o - Tulum is amazing. I've never been happier, I'm experiencing constant growth, in a place that resonates - beautiful places, beaches and people and constant influx of novelty and vitality.

But for a 56 y/o... Idk, probably annoying as fuck to be round all these influencers lol... unless you do a tonne of yoga/ have friends here etc

Expat community is tiny in ES. Its got potential. But meeting partners, friends etc there will be difficult as the pool is small right now

But could be gd for ppl looking for low pop density and quiet life with cheap land and BTC/ epic wealth incentives

Living rurally drove me nuts. Others love it.

Advice from someone with Skin in the Game...

go experience all these places and do a big 1-2 yr experiment and find your spot all things considered.

    N-1 always
