陰陽 (Yin and Yang) and Skin Pigmentation

Was going to bring this up in the Nov Q&A, but decided to put it here instead.

The straightforward question is: Why does the palm of the hand not bear any dark pigmentation despite lots of sun exposure?

Here's some common themes that come up through all of Eastern Medicine and Martial Arts: The palm is the direct path to the heart. Healing energy flows from the palms. Yang energy is "hot", and is concentrated in darker areas of the body -- inside surface of the forearm vs outside surface (legs are an exception).

It feels like the palms of the hands are the site of photon or magnetic emission, and the body stops pigmentation to allow for this energy emission to occur.

Now if that is true, I need to start re-thinking the mechanism of all the opsins present in the body; I would have to think that the disulfide bond is not just a stabilising bond, but a critical functional component, by which its breaking and re-formation conveys important information.

Maybe @Josh or @Josh (Paleo Osteo) have some thoughts as well.
