Hello black swans...

I have been on a healing journey for the last 19 years of my life for my children. Elise (21) and Ben (19) were both diagnosed with autism at the ages of 2 and 16 months (we were watching Ben closely and saw him beginning to decline). I have run a complete chromosome array and FULL genome panel at the Mayo Clinic and so far there is not a genetic reason found for their autism. I'm told by some researchers that it may be because I was sick a number of times while pregnant (working as a speech-language pathologist with preschoolers with disabilities), so most likely it has to do with my immune system while pregnant...ben and Elise's developing (broken) immune systems, many rounds of antibiotics between all of us, a lack of sunshine and vit D, and our mitochondria.

I grew up in Minnesota and we currently reside here... but I found out yesterday that according to my haplotype our first earth mama most likely originated in ECUADOR or a few other surrounding countries (B2b)! (scream face inserted here) Although I have always considered myself mostly Irish, I am now rethinking the amount of sun we need!!

Since my children were very young, I have searched for answers and pursued finding a healing path for them with all my heart. I lived in FL for a year and 1/2 to be close to a Dr. we were working with while trying hyperbaric O2 therapy, but unfortunately at the time I didn't know about the sunrise, sunset or the fact that I shouldn't have been slathering all of us with spf 80 sunscreen!! I've also had the children at the NIH and Johns Hopkins. When they were younger we tried infrared saunas 4x/day and I got rid of all the plastic in our home...They have been GF/CF and low sugar forever....They also had between 20-35 hours of ABA therapy when they were from 2 to about 8?? My memory gets fuzzy!!

I am blessed beyond measure to be married to Mike Webert... and with our union I "adopted" another son with autism (Jack - 20) as well as our neurotypical Thomas (17) who is a goalie and an amazing brother. Jack is diagnosed with a genetic variant (CHD2) and a very rare circadian rhythm syndrome (Klein Levin Syndrome). These are the the loves of my life!

So... I am here for my children, and in the meantime I know my husband and I will find fuller health and wellness in the process. Hopefully longevity because at this point we can't die before our 3 special needs kids!! lol - those of you who are in this same boat know what I am saying.

I look forward to learning and sharing with you all! I hope to help others along our path to wholeness. In the end, my goal is to turn around after finding true health and shine a big, bright red light for others to follow.
